SSHERPA was selected as a Breakout session at the NHS R&D Forum Conference RDF2024, held in Celtic Manor, Cardiff 12-14 May Helen Duffy and Ruth Lambley-Burke (pictured below) presented a breakout session of “ Embedding Research into an Integrated Care System (ICS) - the SSHERPa experience so far” The conference was attended by over 850 colleagues, and the breakout was well received In the breakout room, there were lots of discussions around the concept of a 'joint
research office', the conversations were truly open and honest and it became clear that 'joint' meant either someone taking a lead role or, as in the case of SSHERPa, sharing best practice, or simplifying documentation and aligning processes.
SSHERPa seemed to be very well received and it's clear nationally there are very different models in place across the 42 Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), with some having no frameworks in place for R&I

MPFT hosted their 2024 Research and Innovation Conference which provided fantastic opportunities for everyone to discover more about research and innovation across a range of topics such as mental health, physical health, social care, public health, and engagement.
The event received fantastic feedback such as “ it was motivating to see the positives that can come from engaging with research - both for our staff and our communities”
