Letter From The Editor Dear Readers, I’m excited to introduce you to this year’s art magazine.

After the positive feedback we received after last year’s inaugural issue, the Graphic Design class has decided to make this a yearly project.

While we were finally able to return to school after two years of remote learning, this was still a far-fromnormal school year. Despite, or perhaps as a result of this, our students’ creativity continues to inspire and entertain. We hope you agree that the world needs a little beauty right about now.

Thank you to all of the artists who submitted this year. And thank you to the readers who take the time to appreciate the creativity of the students at Auburn High School.

I used acrylic paint and a few different-sized brushes. The artwork stands for different times of day, and all the trees are connected over time, but the roots are made of gold.

There is a wide range of value, all the pencils were used to blend the shading in. I also used a kneaded eraser to blend as well.

“Photo Montage” Thomas Tran Grade 11 Using Photoshop, I created this photo montage by putting different layers of mask combined, then do some color correction to make the image more vibrant and contrast.

“Skatedeck Design” Thomas Tran Grade 11 As the little heart holds up the brain, the brain discovers the “New World” through his binoculars. This “New World” brings them joy and hope for something different, something interesting, something fun. The red color pops out to catch the attention, while the simplicity makes the image easy to understand. The honeycomb texture gives the design a futuristic look, while showing the beehive subtly, represents communities and families.

I used an app called Procreate and just the flat brush for this piece. I'm still trying to find my style and stick with it so this one of the pieces headed into that direction.

I guess I do wish I spent a little more time on it, but after 5 hours in one day, I didn't feel like tinkering with it anymore.

This is again just an outfit study that I’ve done to get more used to and handy with being able to outfit characters I create. Not only that but also creating outfits that fit their style or match their characteristics.

This is a drawing I made of Ena Shinonome from Project sekai. I made this work while stuck in art block, which is something the character goes through as well, so I found it relatable and wanted to make a piece to represent that struggle we share as artists.
