The concept is interaction. It is mainly inspired from the old traditional horregallu stone in vil lages. Those stones represented the talks, interaction of people in a particular community.

In the site there is a well, which is used as a main focus point of the structural space. seat ing is used near creating a whole courtyard. Open courtyard spaces are kept in order to make the space more enlightening and interac tive.

The design brief is that, it is for a travel agent and his family where the woman is a housewife and the kid is in highschool. The requirements are, they need a study space for his work and a space for band practice for the kid.

-Absorb heat loss from indoor spaces

The ceiling is mainly built in rammed earth and wood due to their insulating properties and easy availability.

The spaces between the classes create a mobile area where community can perform the spaces into its flexible functions.

/Art and Craft Village

The major project of semester vii was chosen to be an art and craft village, a destination for experiencing Kerala’s art and heritage. ‘Beyond a building,’ what more can a building be than a built structure, with this thought in mind, two main questions, were answered to reach the conclusive selected themes. What more can an art and craft village be? How can its elements be incorporated?v
