FUND-THE-ITEM 2015 AN ENDURING SACRED HEART EDUCATION For each auction at Stone Ridge we choose an item that will benefit our students and the School’s mission. During the live auction, we hold a special drive to “Fund the Item”. This year, Stone Ridge seeks support for its financial assistance program which serves current families and is made available to applicant families as well. Our financial aid budget of over $2 million provides aid to approximately 28% of the student body this school year. This program is vital to the health of the school as it provides an opportunity to attend Stone Ridge for local girls who are otherwise unable to receive a Sacred Heart education. It serves as an underpinning to our identity as a Catholic school and to the mission of our foundress St. Madeleine Sophie, who set out to cultivate the minds of young women in order to bring the heart of Christ into the world. Each and every one of our students contribute in their own special way in making Stone Ridge the dynamic, joyful, engaging, and talented community it is today. BIDDING RULES General Rules You will receive a bid number when you check in for your table assignment at the auction. All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds on auction items are permitted. Everything will be sold “as is.” Items cannot be resold or re-auctioned. Please read any specifications and limitations carefully. Values indicated on some auction items are estimates only, and are not warranted by the school for tax purposes or for general value. At the time of purchase, the buyer waives any claims for liability against either the school or the donor of property or services, and neither the school nor the donor is responsible for any injuries or damages to property that might result from the utilization of property or services sold. Unless otherwise specified, all auction items and services must be used within one year after November 7, 2015. Unless otherwise specified, dates and times are to be arranged at the mutual convenience of the donor and the seller. All resort and private vacation homes are offered to adults and minors accompanied by adults. All Auction items must be paid for in full, by cash, check, or charge (Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover) and removed from Stone Ridge the night of the event. Cashiers will be open for close-out immediately after the live auction. Bidding Procedure for the Live Auction The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer will be the purchaser. In the event of any dispute, the auctioneer shall determine the successful bidder. The auctioneer reserves the right to reject any bid that, in his opinion, is not commensurate with the value of the lot being offered. Reserved items have a predetermined minimum price that must be met. Bidding Procedure for the Silent Auction Silent auction categories will close in stages during the evening. An announcement will be made before each closing. All categories will be closed by approximately 8:15 PM Bid sheets are attached to or displayed near each item. The bidder is to place his/her sticker with his/ her bid number next to the pre-printed amount of the bid on the bid sheet. Checking the “Guaranteed Purchase” spot on the bid sheet takes the item out of bidding and it becomes yours. Bids entered after the announcement of closing will be disallowed. You may put all your shares in the next available pool or you can spread your investment out over several pools. The lottery pools usually have funds invested in five different lotteries, but we concentrate most of the money in the national lotteries with the largest jackpots. Large prizes will be divided by the number of shares and paid out to shareholders. Smaller winnings are used to purchase new tickets for the pool. The analytique engraving, in the style of Paris' École des BeauxArts, is packaged in its original folio, dating from the 1984 opening of the building.
