PRESIDENT’S PERSPECTIVE
While the 2019-2020 school year didn’t go as planned, our students and staff continued to shine through it all. In true trailblazing form, Ursuline Academy stood up and stood out during the COVID-19 pandemic by providing seamless distance learning to its students. Our amazingly talented faculty led the charge and were able to continue to provide quality collaborative learning experiences for our Ursuline girls. The idea of an Ursuline family was never more present than during this global pandemic. Faculty, staff, administration, alumnae, students, and families rallied together in support of our 293rd year of teaching. When we stop and reflect on the illness, natural disasters, and world events that have taken place since the Academy’s founding in 1727, it is amazing to think that the Ursulines have persevered through it all. None of what we do as educators could be done without the support of our Ursuline family. The gifts of time, talent and treasure are what make our Academy. Thank you to those, listed in here, who have supported Ursuline in the 2019-2020 school year. We appreciate your continued support as we work to form leaders of confidence and compassion. To the Sioux of 2020, may you take with you all that you’ve learned during your most unpredictable senior year. I encourage you to have that same grace and determination in any and all challenges life may throw your way. We are proud of you and we can’t wait to see what trails you will blaze. Two National Merit Scholars, a perfect ACT score, and many other accomplishments in between – we are extremely proud of you. To every donor and volunteer listed in this annual report, thank you for being a gift to Ursuline. Together, we can accomplish great things. To those founding women of the Laurel Legacy Guild – thank you for being trailblazers. Your gifts will make an impact on generations of Ursuline girls. Together, may we live united in one heart as our foundress St. Angela Merici encouraged. To our Ursuline community I thank you for the last 7 years as I served as President. I am forever grateful for your support of Ursuline and being a part of the UA family.
