Employment Resources Expo (Featuring an Employer Panel) Macomb—Illinois Department of Human Services/Division of Rehabilitation Services and Spoon River College Office of Community Outreach are teaming up to host an Employment Resources Expo featuring an Employer Panel on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 from 10 a.m.-Noon. This event will be held at the Spoon River College Community Outreach Center located at 2500 E. Jackson St. in Macomb. Approximately 10 employers from the Central Illinois area will be on site. A panel discussion on business information, hiring processes, current openings, and suggestions for future potential employees will take place from 10-11 a.m. Members of the community looking for employment or for a change in employment, as well as students and alumni from Spoon River College and other area colleges and universities, are encouraged to attend. Andrea Barbknecht, from the SRC Employability Skills Center, recommends that anyone who may be seeking a job or considering a job change in the near future attend the expo. “This is an excellent opportunity for prospective employees to see what career opportunities are available in this area,” says Barbknecht. “There will be employers from different lines of employment present.” If you are an employer or provide employment services and would like to have a booth at the expo, need additional information, or need special accommodations to attend, please contact DHS’s Brian Davenport at (309) 833-4573 or SRC’s Ashley Riggins at (309) 833-6032. Please help spread the word about this opportunity to those currently job seeking.
