In 1953, a man wrote a play about waiting. In 1988, he sued five women for trying to perform it. In 2001, Madonna released What It Feels Like for a Girl. It’s 2023 and we’re still waiting.
Silent Faces return with their trademark style of playful, political, physical theatre in a whip-smart interrogation of gender, authorial copyright and the cultural significance of Madonna’s 1989 album, Like A Prayer.

The Great Northern Eclipse - Martin Lunn

In 1927 a total eclipse of the sun, a rare and amazing sight, was observable from North Wales to the North East coast of England. It was the first total eclipse seen in Britain for over two hundred years and over a million people travelled north by train, charabanc and car to see a spectacular celestial event that lasted just thirty seconds. Anyone wanting to book an access seat for shows can do so via our box office line - 01422 353 073 - and letting us know at the point of booking tickets so we can ensure your needs are met. We have two seats in our Copper Auditorium and two in Red Brick Auditorium. Some of our film screenings are captioned, please look for details on this in event descriptions.

We love dogs at Square Chapel. Whilst assistance dogs are welcome into our venues unfortunately there are some events, particularly those containing live music, that aren’t suitable for dogs’ sensitive ears.
