We are committed to providing quality recreational and leisure programs for the community in cooperation with the City of Spring Hill and Unified School DIstrict 230.

Movin’ Mondays

For 8 Mondays during the summer, kids (5-13) can come out to the SHELA Gym (300 E South St) where we will put on an assortment of fun recreational gym/outdoor physical activities for them.

For 8 Tuesdays during the summer, kids (5-13) can come out to the SHELA Gym (300 E South St) where we will set out tables and have a selection of board games, card games, and more that kids can come play with their friends or other kids! They may also bring their own games to play.

Water Wednesdays

For 8 Wednesdays during the summer, kids (5-13) that are signed up online through SHRC can come swim for free at the Spring Hill Aquatic Center during a certain time block designated just for them!

Thinkering Thursdays

For 8 Thursdays during the summer, kids (5-13) can sign up online (max of 20 kids) to join us to work on different and interesting STEM projects exploring different science and technology topics at the SHELA gym.

Tennis Camp

Our annual tennis camp in back again this year! This week long camp focuses on learning the fundamentals of the game of tennis in a fun atmosphere You will learn to serve and volley, as well as forehand, backhand, positioning, and more! You will need to bring your own racket (size information available on our website.

U4 Football (3-5 years)

This is a youth development program that introduces the game of football (non-tackle) for kids ages 3-5 years, emphasizing the fundamentals of the game. During this 4-session, 45-minute program your child will learn the basic football skills including how to pass, catch, hike, and kick They will also learn some basic football rules and will play a number of football-based games

U4 Blastball (3-5 years)

This youth development program is a league that uses a foam bat, ball, and tee to teach your child the basics of the sport and to prepare them for TBall and/or Coach Pitch All participants receive a jersey and an award at the end of the season Games will be played in June

U4 Basketball

This youth development program is an instructional session that introduces the game with an emphasis on fundamentals. Children will learn the rules of the game, meet new friends, and have a whole lot of fun!

End of Summer Baseball/Softball Skills Camp/Party

Join us for an end of the season blowout! Show off some of your skills, enjoy some food, and a whole lot of fun!

Youth Volleyball (3rd-6th Grade)

SHRC is thrilled to host our own spring volleyball league! Participants will be placed on a team and requests will be considered but not guaranteed. Teams will have weekly practices.

Dates: Practices begin in August; Games will be on Thursdays in September

Youth Flag Football (1st-6th Grade)

We are hosting a spring flag football league this year and are so excited! All practices will take place in Spring Hill and games will take place in Gardner. SHRC will supply a uniform, but participants will need to purchase their own mouth piece.

Daffodil Days

Daffodil Days is a free, family-oriented community event that focuses on bringing our residents together for a fun filled day! Local businesses & vendors will be on hand to provide carnival style games and/or activities We will also have bounce houses, face painting, food, and more!

Kids and Cars Power Grand Prix

This community event will give kids the opportunity to drive power wheels and also look at and play with cars and toy cars. Food and drink provided, and there will be a raffle for some Power Wheels to take home!

Youth Track Meet

Join us for our annual Youth Track Meet! Come out and test your speed & strength while having fun with your friends Awards will be given for the top athletes in each event and age group Participants will be grouped based on their grade level to ensure fairness

Daffodil Days Adventure Fun

Run

Come run, jump, mantle, and crawl around obstacles and physical challenges! Every participant will receive a 2024 Adventure Fun Run tshirt and medal

Join us for a 3v3 basketball tournament! There will be 3 play-in games to set the bracket. Play-in games will be played to 11 points. The tournament bracket will be double elimination; games will play to 21 points Your team will be guaranteed 5 games Winners will receive a trophy, championship t-shirts, and gift cards Teams can be co-ed (up to 4 players per team) A 29 5" basketball will be used

Online Book Club

Each month, a new book selection is made. You spend the month reading and when the new month begins, discussion questions are posted in our Facebook group. Participation in the discussions is encouraged, but is not required. We also have some fun giveaways, prizes, and more!

Zumba Classes

Zumba is an interval workout that moves between high- and lowintensity dance moves designed to get your heart rate up and boost cardio endurance.

Yoga Classes

Yoga is a mind and body practice that can build strength and flexibility It helps manage pain and reduce stress, works on breathing techniques, and meditation.

A new yoga instructor has been hired and we will begin classes very soon!

Please stay tuned for more information on dates/times of these new classes!

Funk and Flow (Hip Hop Dance/Yoga Combo)

This class is a 45 minute dance fitness class, followed by a 45 minute yoga session. You can choose to stay for both, or drop in for one or the other. The hip hop dance class focuses on having fun and improving your physical and mental health and well-being. It focuses on shredding fat and building muscle, all while having a blast with some friends. The yoga session is designed to relax and find your center. This class is a judgment free zone where you can express yourself through dance and by the end of the day, leaving you feeling brand new!
