To strive to develop, provide, and maintain quality programs and facilities that meet the growing needs of our community.

Our Mission

We are committed to providing quality recreational and leisure programs for the community in cooperation with the City of Spring Hill and Unified School DIstrict 230.

While participating in any SHRC program, activity, or while visiting our facilities or events, patrons consent to having their image captured by SHRC approved photographers/videographers.

The resulting materials, including still photos, video, and audio recordings, may be used by SHRC without restriction or financial compensation in news materials, promotional materials, social media, website, and other properties. SHRC will not identify by name any participant without permission.

YOUTH SPORTS

Baseball/Softball (7-15 years) SHRC coaches emphasize basic skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Leagues start in early May and are usually concluded by mid-July. Games are played on weeknights and some Saturdays. Softball ages are based on January 1st of each year, Baseball ages are based on May 1st of each year.

T-Ball/Coach Pitch

U4 Basketball (3-4 years)

SHRC coaches emphasize basic skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

This youth development program is an instructional session that introduces the game with an emphasis on fundamentals. Children will learn the rules of the game, meet new friends, and have a whole lot of fun!

U4 Soccer (3-5 years)

U4 Football (3-5 years)

This is a youth development program that introduces the game of soccer for kids ages 3-5 years, emphasizing the fundamentals of the game. During this 4-session, 45-minute program your child will learn the basic soccer skills of dribbling, passing, kicking, and defending. They will also learn some basic soccer rules and will get to play a number of soccer-based games.

This is a youth development program that introduces the game of football (non-tackle) for kids ages 3-5 years, emphasizing the fundamentals of the game. During this 4-session, 45-minute program your child will learn the basic football skills including how to pass, catch, hike, and kick. They will also learn some basic football rules and will play a number of football-based games.

Youth Flag Football (1st-6th Grade)

SHRC is thrilled to host our own spring volleyball league! Participants will be placed on a team and requests will be considered but not guaranteed. Teams will have weekly practices and games will be played here in Spring Hill.

We are hosting a spring flag football league this year and are so excited! All practices and games will take place here in Spring Hill. SHRC will supply a uniform, but participants will need to purchase their own mouth piece.

Bingo Night

Summerfest

Join us for Bingo Night! We’ll have some yummy food, prizes, and a whole lot of fun! All proceeds for this event will go to benefit an organization/cause from our Spring Hill community. Donations will be accepted at the event.

Come and enjoy the event that’s all about bringing summer indoors. There will be inflatables to play on, beach balls to play with, a toddler zone, ball pits, yard games, and food!

Daddy Daughter Dance Calling all dads! We’re rolling out the red carpet for a Hollywood themed night of fun with dancing, music, refreshments, and more. Food will be served by Maria Rich of Lupita’s Kitchen, and Boulevard Limousine will be on hand for short limo rides!

Registration is open until all spots are full.

Valentine’s Day Goody Bag Drop-Offs These FREE and fun goody bags are full of Valentine’s Day themed crafts, toys, and candy. Perfect for you and your kid(s) to enjoy for the holiday!

Family Night Open Gym

We’re hosting our first ever Family Night Open Gym! Grab your family for a fun night of kickball, archery tag, knocker balls, and so much more.

Our always popular Trivia Night is back! Join us for a night of fun, food, and more, all while donating to a great local organization/cause.

Easter Egg Hunt

Diamonds are a crook’s best friend...

A priceless diamond is stolen and it is up to you, your guests, and the detective to find the thief and restore the diamond to its rightful place. Dress in your fanciest evening gowns and suits for an evening of high fashion and suspenseful mystery.

Looking for an eggcellent event to attend? Join us for our annual Easter Egg Hunt! The Spring Hill Ruritans will be back again this year serving a delicious pancake breakfast (donations suggested). Among the hidden eggs there will be vouchers for large prizes.

Prizes will vary.

Youth Art Class

Send your kid(s) to learn some cooking skills with SHRC! We will be doing different recipes each month. All supplies are included with the cost, unless otherwise specified.

All classes are taught by Pastry Chef Maria Rich of Lupita’s Kitchen.

Drop your kids off so they can explore their creative side with guided art projects each month. These classes are sure to help your budding artist grow and develop in their creativity.

Special Olympics Open Gym

The Spring Hill Sharks Special Olympics programs are designed for any individual, youth or adult, with a mental or physical disability who chooses not to participate in regular SHRC programs.

SHRC is thrilled to be offering a brand new opportunity. We’re hosting a Special Olympics open gym! Come and check out what the Sharks are up to and see if there’s a program that we offer that fits for you!

Photography Classes

Throughout the year we take various field trips to exhibits, museums, and locations around the Kansas City Metro Area. All field trips include transportation, admission, and lunch, unless otherwise stated.

Our mobile photography classes are done quarterly throughout the year.

Spring Hill’s Anna Manning takes you to various locations around the area to teach you the basics of using your camera.

March Madness Bracket Challenge

Online Book Club

Every year we take your best bracket guesses and see who comes out on top! You sign up, we send you a link, you fill out your bracket, and then we see how you did. The winner receives an awesome prize!

Each month, a new book selection is made. You spend the month reading and when the new month begins, discussion questions are posted in our Facebook group. Participation in the discussions is encouraged, but is not required. We also have some fun giveaways, prizes, and more!

Dates: Brackets due the Monday before games begin; Contest runs the duration of the NCAA March Madness Tournament.

Yoga Classes

Zumba is an interval workout that moves between high- and lowintensity dance moves designed to get your heart rate up and boost cardio endurance.

Yoga is a mind and body practice that can build strength and flexibility. It helps manage pain and reduce stress, works on breathing techniques, and meditation.

Hip Hop Dance Classes

Pilates is a full-body workout that improves muscle tone, flexibility, and strength.

A 50 minute dance fitness class that focuses on having funa nd improving your physical and mental health and well-being. We focus on shredding fat and building muscle. This class is a judgment free zone where you can express yourself through dance.
