SPOTLIGHT

Which three words best describe you?

Attentive, passionate, caring.

What inspired you to join us for Spring Harvest 2022?

A big part of my calling is to be a teacher and I count it a privilege to teach those who desire to know, love and worship God with their lives. It’s a golden opportunity to offer what I have to bless others and be blessed in turn.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Purchase a good blender – it’s amazing for breakfast smoothies or soups and you get your five a day!

What’s your favourite worship song at the moment?

‘More Than Anything’ by Sunday Service Choir.

Our theme for Spring Harvest 2022 is Restore, Renew, Rebuild - what do these three words mean to you?

Restore: fill up what has become empty. Renew: make fresh what has become old or stale. Rebuild: take time and energy to recreate what has been lost.

I count it a privilege to teach those who desire to know, love and worship God with their lives.”

SKEGNESS 11-15 APRIL Dr Amy Orr-Ewing

DR AMY ORR-EWING is an international author, speaker and theologian who addresses the deep questions of our day with meaningful answers found in the Christian faith.

She is the author of multiple books, including Where is God in All the Suffering? and the best-selling Why Trust the Bible?

SPOTLIGHT

What inspired you to become a speaker?

I began to realise I had evangelistic and speaking gifts as a teenager and thanks to YWAM and my local church I was encouraged to step into opportunities. But it was a prophetic word that God used to call me into full-time ministry 23 years ago.

Tell us about your favourite Spring Harvest moment so far?

It was in a youth venue in 1994. A group of us had been worshipping using the pots and pans from our chalet as percussion and we were invited to lead in the venue. It was so simple but there was a tangible moment of God’s presence falling in that place. It was really beautiful.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

As a leader, listen to the Holy Spirit all the time. The Lord cares about the details and will often lead us through step by step.

What is your favourite worship song at the moment?

‘Tremble’ by Mosaic MSC.

Our theme for Spring Harvest 2022 is Restore, Renew, Rebuild - what do those three words mean to you?

These three words sum up the moment in which we find ourselves in the UK church. We have suffered loss alongside our neighbourhoods and nation, and it is time to rebuild - but we need the Lord to restore and renew our strength, to revive us as his people.

We need the Lord to restore and renew our strength, to revive us as his people.” MINEHEAD 18-22 APRIL Rev Cris Rogers

REV CRIS ROGERS is a Church of England church planter, artist, and Star Wars fan.

In 2010, Cris and his family moved to Tower Hamlets, one of the toughest estates in East London, and took on the leadership of All Hallows, Bow. Cris has a deep passion for discipleship and runs the weekly podcast ‘Making Disciples with Cris Rogers’.

SPOTLIGHT

Which three words best describe you?

A creator, coffee-lover and fun!

Tell us about your favourite Spring Harvest moment so far?

That would be back in 2018 when Hae-Woo, a persecuted Christian who had been imprisoned in North Korea for her faith, led us in worship singing ‘Amazing Grace’ in Korean!

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Never rush to respond in a stressful situation. Always pause, hold back and take your time to respond with balance.

What is your favourite worship song at the moment?

‘Wait on you’ by Elevation Worship and Maverick City… I can’t get enough of that song!

Our theme for Spring Harvest 2022 is Restore, Renew, Rebuild - what do these three words mean to you?

I’m excited by what these words mean for us. God is always wanting to do the new thing with us. As we rebuild, we get to walk with God in what He’s doing. They also remind me that we worship a God who wastes nothing; all of the broken bits of the universe get put back together by Jesus on the cross.

God is always wanting to do the new thing with us. As we rebuild, we get to walk with God in what He’s doing.”
