Following a very successful series of work executed from a trip to India I decided to return at the end of 2011 to work on a second series. I spent a couple of months travelling with my paintbox from Delhi south to Kerala. Visitors to my studio will see the results of this trip as well as a selection of work produced back in my studio in Scotland.
I love painting. Beauty and richness, colour and mystery can all be found in it. For me, the medium is entrancing and enticing. Visitors will see bold, colourful and striking new abstracts which are full of fresh ideas. This year, a bigger range of work will be on show. There will be small, delicate drawings and prints. I will show some strong subtle, simple paintings and there will also be the drama of big, powerful, richly textured pieces.

directions: From Moffat, take the A701 to Dumfries. My studio is at the edge of Locharbriggs, on the right, just below the Arnold Clark Garage at the top of the hill. Coming from the south, exit the A75 at the Heathhall roundabout. Take the A701, (direction Edinburgh/Moffat). About 1.5 miles north of there, my studio is on the left, just below the Arnold Clark Garage at the top of the hill as you are leaving Locharbriggs. recommendations: Heathhall Garden Centre (Edinburgh Road, Dumfries DG1 1SE, 01387 263101, heathhallgardecentre.co.uk) has a café/tearoom serving light meals. Heathhall Aviation Museum (Heathhall Industrial Estate, Dumfries DG1 3PF, 01387 251623, dumfriesaviationmuseum.com) a former Control Tower, the museum has indoor exhibits and outdoor static displays of aircraft. Part of a WW2 airfield, it now houses a diverse and growing collection of aircraft and aviation related material, both civilion and military. facilities:
