The humid Florida air hung thick and heavy around me as I navigated the crowded pre show festivities outside the Wrestlemania stadium. I’m not one for crowds; I tend to find them overwhelming, a cacophony of noise and sticky bodies that usually sets my teeth on edge. But this was Wrestlemania.This was wrestling’s biggest night, and I, surprisingly, was actually enjoying myself, or at least, tolerating the experience. I was there with my friend, Mark, a man whose enthusiasm for wrestling is only rivaled by his uncanny ability to find the most obscure, and often questionable, wrestling merchandise. He was bouncing around like a caffeinated kangaroo, his eyes darting from booth to booth, his voice a constant stream of excited observations.This year he had convinced me, after years of resisting, to finally attend the event. I had, of course, begrudgingly agreed, secretly hoping for an experience that could prove as exciting as Mark’s endless proclamations of enjoyment.

Mark had, as expected, spent the better part of the day shopping for a new wrestling shirt. He had meticulously examined every single tee, scrutinizing the fabric, the print quality, and, of course, the design. He has extremely high standards and he will not settle for anything less than perfection. I, on the other hand, have a more practical approach to clothing; comfort and durability trump all other considerations. I’ve always struggled to find clothing that meets both these standards, let alone anything stylish. I stood beside him, swatting away a persistent mosquito, patiently, or at least outwardly patiently, waiting for him to finish his latest quest for the perfect wrestling shirt.This quest, however, appeared to have finally come to an end. He had found something that sparked a genuine, and a rare, spark of pure joy on his face. He rushed over to me, beaming, holding out a folded shirt. He has a mischievous glint in his eyes, and I knew it had to be something special.
