The late afternoon sun cast long shadows across the parking lot as we hurried towards Kauffman Stadium.The air buzzed with anticipation, a symphony of excited chatter, the thrum of car engines, and the distant crack of a baseball bat from the practice field. My best friend, Mark, practically bounced beside me, his energy levels peaking as the Royals were playing. He had been talking about this game for weeks, ever since the schedule came out and he realized the Blue Jays would be in town.This wasn’t just any game, this was a clash of titans in his eyes, a chance to see two of his favorite teams battle it out. We’d managed to snag some fantastic seats just behind the dugout, promising a close-up view of the action. I could already picture the perfect evening: hot dogs, cold beer, nail biting innings, and the shared camaraderie of cheering on our team.This was what weekends were made for. We planned this outing weeks ago and finally, the day was here. Mark always took his fandom very seriously. He had Royals paraphernalia dating back to the ’85 World Series win. He had jerseys, hats, socks, you name it, and he had them all in pristine condition, always ready for game day. He looked like a walking billboard of team spirit, ready to show off that spirit. I, on the other hand, was a little more casual about my fandom. I enjoyed the game, loved the atmosphere, but my wardrobe was a little lacking in the team gear department. As we got closer to the stadium entrance, I noticed something. Mark stopped dead in his tracks, a look of pure joy spreading across his face.
