As
the 2023–2024 school year begins, Princeton Day School welcomes Kelley Nicholson-Flynn as our new Head of School. Dr. Nicholson-Flynn succeeds Paul J. Stellato, who completed his fifteenyear tenure at the school this past spring. Prior to Dr. Nicholson-Flynn’s arrival at PDS, she was the assistant Head of School for operations at Riverdale Country School in the Bronx, New York. Despite her desire to spend some of her career in her hometown—Pittsburgh, PA— she has spent much of her time in New Jersey, teaching and inspiring students to grow. Transitioning into her role as Head of School has been a big adjustment, but Dr. Nicholson-Flynn has readily embraced her new home on the Great Road. “I have been meeting with our community, and what people talk about PDS the most is how the community feels,” Dr. Nicholson-Flynn mentions. Through her interactions with the community on the first day of school, she has received numerous caring welcomes, huge high fives, and warm smiles. Dr. Nicholson-Flynn also celebrates the caring nature of the faculty: they “take students seriously, valuing the relationships they build with the community. I think that’s special, and I don’t experience this everywhere.” For her, Princeton Day School brings a variety of interdisciplinary perspectives to the community, inspiring continued on page 2

things that you can do beyond the classroom, beyond performing arts, and beyond athletics.” This fair serves as the one occasion during the year when everyone is gathered in one place, and the array of clubs, programs, and affinity groups are showcased. While not every one of the 80 options was present this year, those that did offered many opportunities for students, especially for the new freshmen. This year, there are a handful of new clubs. The
