& ANSWERS QUESTIONS

Q. Tell us a little bit about yourself. Why do you call Wichita home?

A. I am married to my wife, Tamra, and have 3 boys, Chase (28), Jake (17), and Will (14). We live in Andover and our life now revolves around our two teenage boys. From work, travel, practices, games and school functions to part-time jobs, we are always on the move. We call Wichita home because of the proximity to our family and all the wonderful things Wichita has to offer. For example, cost of living, good schools for our kids, light traffic and Midwest-friendly hospitality.

Q. What is your healthcare background?

A. I began my career in the healthcare industry as a physician recruiter and practice management consultant in Dallas in 2001. In 2004, I joined an orthopedic group in Wichita as the chief operating officer until 2019, before joining IMA to help lead the Central Division Healthcare Practice.

Q. Why did you get into the insurance brokerage business?

A. From my previous roles, I enjoyed the relationship aspect of the business, and being an insurance broker at IMA allows me to focus on that every day. In my current role as VP of business development, I can meet, assist and advise healthcare executives who may be struggling with the same issues I used to.

Q. How does your healthcare background translate to serving the brokerage needs of healthcare providers?

A. Having worked in or managed almost every aspect of the healthcare industry allows me to understand a client’s business or operations and provide solutions or resources that protect them from a liability standpoint. I bring additional resources that can help them manage their insurance program. Specifically, contract review, loss control, executive risk and our cyber practice are some of the most utilized. I understand the challenges and frustration of managing a budget and P&L. I’m always looking to bring value and savings to my clients.

Q. Tell us about IMA and how they uniquely serve the healthcare industry.

A. IMA is a predominantly employee-owned insurance brokerage firm originating in Wichita nearly 50 years ago. It consists of 37 locations and over 2,000 employees from coast to coast. Our people and the expertise and services we provide for our clients are what sets IMA apart in the healthcare industry. IMA chairman and CEO Rob Cohen has said: “IMA is creating a new future for the insurance industry. We take a nontraditional approach that relentlessly focuses on clients, colleagues and community.”

IMA’s size and unique ownership model allow superior investment in in-house services and expertise, while still being nimble enough to deliver assistance in a personalized manner. Its healthcare and social services practice provides risk management and insurance services for hospitals, physician groups, senior living facilities, mental health organizations, correctional healthcare companies, healthcare staffing companies, and not-for-profit social service agencies throughout the country.

What Will Your Skin Reveal?

We’re so excited to introduce you to our state-of-the-art photo imaging system, Visia Skin Analysis! This new system lets us take in-depth pictures of your skin and analyze them using crosspolarized light. We now can see what is under the layers of your skin.

Our skin care aestheticians can analyze your skin and then customize a treatment plan to correct any damage they see. Plus, they can also use the images to create a plan to prevent future damage to your face. Once your treatments begin, our aestheticians can also track your progress during your skincare journey, so you can see the real benefits under your skin.

How Does Visia Skin Analysis Work?

The machine scans your skin and looks for several things:

• Spots: The system gives us better identification of brown and red spots that may be signs of skin damage, hyperpigmentation, freckling, melasma and other photodamage.

• Wrinkles: Visia identifies any creases, from fine lines and wrinkles to deep furrows and folds, so that we can identify a treatment plan.

• Texture: We can see skin texture irregularities that affect the smoothness of your skin so we can help improve your skin texture.

• Pores: Your pores are small openings all over your body. When pores overproduce sebum or become large, they can appear black. Visia identifies them and can show you how specific products and treatments can help.

• UV Spots: We can reveal the spots on your skin from sun damage that we can’t see with the naked eye.

• Brown Spots: We can see the pigmentation and discoloration on and beneath the surface of your skin.

• Red Areas: The analysis shows us the concentrated darker red areas that may be related to inflammation or even spider veins.

• Porphyrins: These are associated with acne, and Visia allows us to see your clogged pores.

What Else Does Visia Skin Analysis Do?

We can determine your skin age relative to your actual age and compare skin changes over time. This helps us develop a more targeted treatment program for your specific needs. We can also track your progress and treatment outcomes.

Using the Advanced Aging Simulation, the software predicts your aging process, up to age 80. It can depict both aging and reversal.

What Happens During My Appointment?

You sit in front of the system, and it scans your face. We capture left, right and front facial views in just minutes. Then, we’ll look at the scans on the computer. This is your baseline for treatment. Down the line, we can provide before-and-after photos so you can see how your skin treatment program is working.

Do you want to identify your skin texture, tone, sun damage and pigmentation issues? Do you want to compare the progress of your skin treatments and improvement over time? Are you interested in knowing your actual skincare age? If so, then yes, you are a great candidate!
