SPJST Car Show and Czech Heritage Celebration

The 14th Annual SPJST Car Show and Czech Heritage Celebration on Saturday, October 5 will be filled with classic cars, arts/crafts, food, music, Czech heritage, kids’ activities, and family fun at SPJST Lodge 47, Seaton Star Hall! Star Hall is located at 10842 State Highway 53, seven miles east of Temple in the community of Seaton. The event opens to the public at 9 a.m. Meet Miss Texas Special guest is Miss Texas 2019 Chandler Foreman. Chandler is a 22-year-old senior at the University of North Texas pursuing a degree in broadcast media with a minor in communications. Her talent is playing the flute. During her 12month speaking tour, she will make more than 250 appearances and speak before over 100,000 people about the Texas Cares for

Children Program, the Children’s Miracle Network, and her personal platform “The Leader Within.” Some interesting facts about Chandler: she was born with 12 fingers, and she can play three instruments. She has been the entertainment anchor for three UNT television shows, designed “Queens Have No Size,” was in the Houston Youth Philharmonic, and National Elite All-American in Track and Field. 200 Cars Anticipated Car show registration begins at 8 a.m. The show is organized into 40 classes. Vehicles will be independently judged, and more than 100 trophies will be awarded. Special trophies will also be presented to Miss Texas’ choice and the Continued on Page 7

Thanks to Lodge 6, Cottonwood’s bread-baking crew, which supplied all the bread used for the delicious menu items for the lodge’s food booth at Westfest.
