Dbnq!lvcfob!fbsot!! bdb.bddsfejufe!dbnq!tubuvt The American Camp Association® (ACA) announced last week that Camp Kubena has received ACA-Accredited® Camp status for 2019. “ACA Accreditation means that Camp Kubena submitted to a thorough (up to 300 standards) review of its operation by the American Camp Association (ACA) — from staff qualifications and training to emergency management — and complied with the highest standards in the industry,” said Cindy Moore, National Standards Commission.
“Parents expect their children to attend accredited schools. They also deserve a camp experience that is reviewed and accredited by an expert, independent organization,” Moore said. “ C a m p Kubena and ACA form a partnership that promotes summers of growth and fun in an environment committed to safety,” said Jeb Lapeyrolerie, Executive Director. “ACA accreditation demonstrates our commitment to quality camp programming.” Continued on Page 13.

This Valentine’s Week cruise out of Galveston would be aboard Royal Caribbean International’s Enchantment of the Seas. Grammy Award Winner Bobby Flores & The Yellow Rose Band would be providing entertainment at special SPJST functions.

The packed house enjoyed music by Kovanda’s Czech Band of Houston and culinary delights prepared by Czech-born chef and pastry teacher Pavla Van Bibber. Attendees celebrated 100 years of Czech freedom since the end of World War I. More on page 19.
