Congratulations to Laramie Cass of Lodge 17, New Tabor! Laramie came home with the Reserve Champion Brahman Steer trophy for his market steer named Monkey. He also won first place in the Heavy Weight Brahman Division. “It’s all very exciting. This is the big time,” Laramie, 17, of Caldwell was quoted in an article in the Houston Chronicle. Laramie has shown lambs and goats at the livestock show for several years, but this is his first year showing a steer. “He’s a handful,” Laramie said of Monkey, who weighed in at an impressive 1,394 pounds.
