Supreme Lodge welcomes new members
Fraternalism

At our recent 32nd Convention, I witnessed something so important that I felt moved to share it. It was the thing most treasured and strengthening for an organization such as ours: Fraternalism. Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary defines fraternalism as “made up of members who share an interest or purpose.” That is exactly what we are. We share interests, and we share a purpose. We may not always agree on just how to pursue those shared interests or just how to accomplish our shared purpose, but in the end, we come together for the good of the organization.
What I witnessed was two of our members who opposed each other to serve in an office. Note the key word: serve. They did not seek power for themselves, nor did they stoop to dirty tricks to one-up the other just to “win” an election. They genuinely campaigned for the opportunity to serve in the way they deemed best. Hiram Dixon and Delisle Doherty, who ran for Vice President, exhibited the true spirit of fraternalism that we need so much in SPJST to solidify our future. They even sat together and visited prior to the election. And when the election was over, neither was a loser because both were motivated by the

Congratulations to 2016-2017 District Six Royalty. They are King Blake Zielonka and Queen Myranda Zielonka, both of Lodge 148, El Maton.
