32nd SPJST Convention • Killeen, Texas Sunday, June 12 to Wednesday, June 15 Killeen Civic and Conference Center
SPJST local lodge delegates from across the state will meet in Killeen, Texas, on Sunday, June 12 through Wednesday, June 15 for the 32nd SPJST Convention at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center (KCCC). Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. Jerry Haisler and the Melody Five will perform at the Howdy Party from 4 to 7 p.m. at KCCC. The band’s performance is sponsored by Allen Bailey and Associates, Inc., an actuarial consulting firm located in Austin, Texas. Complimentary snacks will be served. Late registration is 7 to 8:30 a.m. at the KCCC on Monday morning. The convention will convene at 8:30 a.m.
Lunch/Banquet Tickets All events are open to the public; however, all lunch and banquet tickets must be purchased in advance by May 23. An order form appears on page 4 of this Vestnik. The cost for boxed lunches is $8 per person and will be served on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday during lunch between 12 noon and 1 p.m. Lunch menus are:
Monday—Smoked ham and swiss on a pretzel roll with kicked up mac and cheese or smoked ham and cheese chef salad. Both include banana pudding. Tuesday—Chopped brisket sandwich served on a kaiser roll with southern style potato salad or grilled chicken salad. Both include peach cobbler.
Wednesday—Mesquite chicken salad sandwich on croissant with tomato, cucumber, and red onion salad or taco salad with fresh salsa and guacamole. Both include lemon cream cake with blueberry compote.
Monday evening’s banquet at the KCCC will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will include a dinner consisting of burgundy beef tips/smothered chicken
in cream sauce, spring mix salad, garlic mashed potatoes, parmesan crusted asparagus, yeast rolls, and assorted desserts. Czech and Then Some, sponsored by Allen Bailey and Associates, Inc., will play for the evening’s dance from 8 to 10 p.m. The cost for Monday evening’s banquet meal is $20 per person.
