Lodge 186, Caldwell Member Celebrates 100th Birthday
Tracy Chaloupka Wine of SPJST Lodge 186, Caldwell celebrated her 100th birthday on October 17, 1915. She is the daughter of Joe and Matilda (Trcalek) Chaloupka. Sister Wine was raised in the Cooks Point community with her b r o t h e r s Wilton, Engbert, and Edward and sister Annie Lee. She attended Liberty School and graduated in 1935 from Caldwell High School. She was baptized and confirmed in New Tabor Brethren Church. In 1938, she married Robert Wine. She has lived in Burleson County all her life doing hard farm work which she contributes to her long life. Husband Robert passed away in 2004. Tracy lives in Caldwell and still attends Cooks Point Brethren Church. The City of Caldwell declared Oc-
tober 17, 2015, as “Wine Day” in honor of Sister Wine’s 100th birthday. Loved ones joined her in celebrating her big day with cupcakes at Cooks Point Community Center. They also created a memory wall of pictures showing her time in Burleson County through the years. Sister Wine credits her longevity to life as a farm girl. She says she is thankful for all those who love her. “It was a beautiful day,” she says. “So many friends came out like my nieces and nephews who planned this party for me. I was so happy.” The Caldwell mayor also presented the centenarian with a proclamation declaring October 17 as Tracy Wine Day. Congratulations to Sister Wine on her special achievement! —SPJST—
