S.P.J.S.T. Rest Home Directors assist with the groundbreaking ceremony held Friday, April 10 at 1810 Old Granger Road in Taylor, Texas. A new skilled nursing and rehabilitation center will be built to replace the current building that was constructed in 1959. Breaking Ground for S.P.J.S.T. Senior Living

Grey skies and intermittent rain did not dampen spirits at the groundbreaking of S.P.J.S.T.’s new Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Friday afternoon, April 10. Guests looked on as representatives of the City of Taylor, including Mayor Pro Tem Chris Gonzales, local and area SPJST lodges, PI Architects, SCI Construction, Branch Banking and Trust, and the board of directors and management of the local S.P.J.S.T.
Senior Living community shoveled the first dirt at the site on Old Granger Road in Taylor. Special Guest Ms. Pavla Velickinova, Head of the Public Diplomacy Department, brought greetings from the Embassy of the Czech Republic. Located at 1810 Old Granger Road in Taylor, the new building will have private rooms and allow for additional residents, bringing the number up from 74 to 96. Each wing houses 16 residents with larger semi-private
Lodge 38, Kovar hosted the SPJST Float in the Smithville Jamboree Parade on Saturday, April 11. The Frozen-themed float received the overall top award in the parade.
