The Taylor S.P.J.S.T. Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation facility will receive major upgrades in 2015. A new building with more room and upgrades will be built to accommodate and care for more residents. According to Administrator Woody Richards, the 57-year-old building is becoming outdated for residents. “For our future, we need to have a facility that is more appropriate for the cliental that is coming our way,” he said. “We decided we should upgrade our facility in many respects.”
The new building will have room for more occupants, bringing the number of residents up from 74 to 96. Each of the six wings will have room for 16 residents. “The emphasis is going to be to try and better meet the needs of residents of the future,” Richards said. “We’re seeing more people come in with advanced Alzheimer’s and we need a specialized area to care for those people.” Semi-private rooms will also be larger, and allow more privacy. Privacy Notices Mailed Out
Privacy notices were mailed to all SPJST members last week. Please check the name and address on the envelope. The privacy notice which accompanies the letter is intended for the insured member. Have we sent it to the proper address? Sometimes parents or grandparents purchase an SPJST life certificate for their child or grandchild and continue to pay for that certificate. If the insured member does not reside at the address where the notice was received, please inform SPJST of the correct address, phone number(s) and email address for the insured. If you are the person responsible for paying the premiums, let us know that and our Accounting Department will see that the invoice is mailed to your address. To make any of the above changes or additions, please call us at 800-727-
7578 and ask to speak to a billing representative. You may also download a change of address form from our website (www.spjst.org) and mail the form to the SPJST Home Office; PO Box 100; Temple, Texas 76503. If the name of the insured has changed, please call the SPJST Home Office and inform the operator that you need to complete a Change of Name form. The completed form will need to be authenticated by a notary or witnessed and acknowledged by an SPJST sales agent, director, or officer. The Change of Name form may also be downloaded from the spjst.org website. We want to make sure that your information is correct in the SPJST system. Keeping your SPJST membership and

SPJST Annuities: Excellent Way to Accumulate Money
Hello, Vestnik Readers, Today, I wanted to write to you about one of our products called annuities. Annuities are long-term, tax-deferred savings plans that provide lump sum funds or income for a fixed period of time. They are an excellent way to accumulate money for retirement or other purposes. You can use a Traditional IRA or a Roth IRA to purchase an SPJST annuity. This year, you can contribute for the 2014 year until April 15. However, there are some limitations. For example, for 2014, the maximum you can contribute to your Traditional or Roth IRA is the smaller of $5,500 ($6,500 if you’re age 50 or older) or your taxable
