Bear - Fish - Mosquito
Mike Spiller of Games of the World leads an engaging, energizing game of “Bear - Fish - Mosquito” (similar to rock-paper-scissors) with Lodge 47, Seaton Youth Leader Joyce Kraatz, left, and Lodge 183, Arlington Youth Leader Debra Daniel at the Youth Leaders Workshop held Saturday, March 21 at the SPJST Home Office in Temple. See more photos in next week’s Vestnik.
SPJST . . . The Fraternal Advantage By Fraternal Field Manager Philip McBee
While sitting in the audience at an SPJST spring meeting recently, I realized that we have forgotten the best selling point of SPJST. As the meeting progressed, the speakers listed all the work that the district and SPJST had accomplished over the last few months such as helping the family of a young youth club member who passed away due to injuries sustained in a car accident and assisting two different SPJST families who lost their homes due to fires. Lodges and members worked to help these families not only financially, but also in coun-
seling and with hands-on help. It was also mentioned that SPJST had donated more than $500,000 to charitable organizations in 2014. And, we can’t forget all the college scholarships that SPJST has given to the younger members. If I had been a visitor to the lodge that day, I would have stood up and asked how can I become a member of such a great organization . . . an organization that takes care of its members . . . something that just doesn’t happen

Giving Back and Helping Others
Lodge 29, Taylor members Kathryn Adamek, left, and Mary Jane Pustejovsky place bids in the silent auction at the District Two Spring Meeting on March 15. The auction raised more than $1,000 for a youth leader and her family whose home recently burned. More scenes from the District Two meeting on page 4.
