Annual Banquet Recognizes Lodges, Agents, Members any awards were presented at the SPJST Awards Banquet held Saturday, January 31, 2015, at the Frank W. Mayborn Convention Center in Temple. During the afternoon event, lodges, lodge fraternalists, top-producing sales agents, and youth clubs were recognized in accordance with the terms of the “Step Up to the Plate” 2014 membership campaign. The day began with the posting of colors by 2014-2015 State King Nikolas Faust of Lodge 9, Snook and District Two Queen Kacie Vanecek of Lodge 48, Beyersville. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Supreme Lodge Chairman/District One Director Donnie Victorick. Supreme Lodge Secretary-Treasurer Leonard Mikeska then led the invocation, and Supreme Lodge President Brian Vanicek introduced SPJST officials and welcomed all to the banquet. District 55 State Representative Molly White delivered the keynote presentation and outlined some of the agenda items in the 84th Texas Legislature which began January 13, 2015. Temple Mayor Danny Dunn then proclaimed the day as “SPJST Awards Day” in the City of Temple. Supreme Lodge President Vanicek and Supreme Lodge Vice President Clifton Coufal then honored lodges, sales agents, youth clubs, and fraternalists with medals, plaques, certificates, and monetary awards. Eighty-three lodges across Texas were recognized for their life insurance sales and community service activities in 2014. Lodges received a total of

$209,914.19 in incentive awards. SPJST honored 20 youth clubs around Texas for achieving youth certificates issued in 2014. Top Youth Clubs in the District Award were presented to Lodges 47, Seaton; 25, Ennis; 88, Houston; and 30, Taiton. Districts Two, Three, Five, and Six Youth Clubs also received monetary awards for their efforts. Youth Program awards totaled $2,750. Several members were honored for their recruiting efforts in 2014. Five names—Leslie Mach of Lodge 25, Ennis; Alma Urbanek of Lodge 29, Taylor; Ethan Zajicek of Lodge 47, Seaton; Linda Mokry of Lodge 48, Beyersville; and Nicholas Doherty of Lodge 196, Houston-West—were drawn for $100 Wal-Mart gift cards. Top producers were also recognized at the banquet. The top five career (full-time) and associate (part-time)

agents were recognized in earned premium and insurance issued categories. Eight SPJST sales agents received honorable distinction and recognition for being Million Dollar Producers. To be recognized, an agent had to have written at least $1 million of insurance in 2014 that was issued and in force on December 26, 2014. The agent must also have maintained at least 85 percent persistency over the preceding 25 months. These eight sales agents have a total of $15,529,981 insurance in force. They are Clinton Roberts, FIC, Patsy Koslovsky, FIC, Johnnie R. Krizan (posthumously), Theresa Murray, Bradley Stavinoha, Kerry Herrington, John Floyd Cole, and Wendy Pruski,

Following the awards presentations, David Bucek of Lodge 151, Wharton delivered the benediction and Mark Rebecek of Lodge 79, Corpus Christi led the dinner prayer. A barbecue dinner and cake were then served. Door prize drawings concluded the day. Congratulations to all sales agents, lodges, and youth clubs on their awards.
