Banquet Honors Members, Agents any awards were presented at the SPJST Awards Banquet held Saturday, January 26, 2013, at the Frank W. Mayborn Convention Center in Temple. During the afternoon event, many lodges, lodge fraternalists, top-producing sales agents, and youth clubs were recognized in accordance with the terms of the Tribute 2012 membership campaign. Both lodge and individual awards were presented. The day began with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Texas State Representative, District 55, Ralph Sheffield of SPJST Lodge 87, Temple. SPJST Supreme Lodge President Brian Vanicek introduced SPJST officials and welcomed all to the banquet. Dianne White Delisi of Lodge 47, Seaton delivered an informative keynote address entitled “Connecting With Our Elected Officials.” Ms. Delisi is the senior policy advisor for Delisi Communications and served more than 17 years in the Texas House of Representatives. being selected Fraternalists of the Year from their respective lodges. He then announced SPJST’s 2012 State Fraternalist of the Year as Patsy Koslovsky of Lodge 47, Seaton. Honorable mentions were Ronnie Rieger of Lodge 29, Taylor; James Hosch of Lodge 200, Bruceville-Eddy; Trish Konkler of Lodge 246, Morgan’s Point; and Jennifer Davidson of Lodge 87, Temple. State Fraternalist of the Year Patsy Koslovsky will now compete in the national fraternalist competition sponsored by the American Fraternal Alliance.

Insurance Department hosts agent seminar

SPJST is proud to announce and welcome Lynette Talasek as new State Youth Director. As State Youth Director, Sister Talasek will serve as the primary Home Office liaison with District Youth Counselors and local youth leaders in the planning and direction of activities and programs, ranging from Youth Achievement Days to summer camps and local lodge youth club development. Lynette will also be responsible for developing programs for DYCs and youth leader training, youth workshops, and the leaders-in-training program. Lynette starts work on February 11. A graduate of Temple High School and Temple College, Sister Talasek received her bachelor’s degree in human resources from the Central Texas Campus of Texas A&M University. A thirdgeneration SPJST member, Lynette has a passion for fraternalism and a “love for people and their differences.” She is in her fifth year as youth leader for SPJST Lodge 47, Seaton Youth Club and is also serving as Assistant District Two Youth Counselor. Lynette and her daughter, Zoe, 12, make their home in Temple. Sister Talasek joins the SPJST Home Office fraternal team from Temple College where she worked in the
