Fraternal Bowling Tournament: February 9 in New Braunfels

SPJST bowlers will compete with members from several other Texas fraternals in the Ninth Annual Fraternal Alliance Of Texas Bowling Tournament set for Saturday, February 9 at Fiesta Lanes in New Braunfels, Texas. Fiesta Lanes is located behind HEB at 1202 Huisache Avenue. Teams will consist of five members—any combination of men and women, and each participant will bowl three games in the tournament, which begins at 12 noon. Individual entries will be accepted (you do not have to have a full team in order to enter the tournament). And, lodges may enter multiple teams. Pre-registration is $20 per bowler, or $100 per team of five before February 1. Walk-ins will be accepted from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on the day of the tournament provided lanes are available. The cost for walk-ins will also be $20 per person. Bowlers must be a member, at least 16 years of age, in good standing of one of the fraternal organizations participating in the tournament.

Awards will be presented to the top three males and top three females for high series and high game. Winning organization will be determined by pin fall. The total pin fall for each organization will be divided by the total number of participants for that organization to determine an average for the three games bowled. The organization with the highest average will be declared the winner. Proceeds from the tournament and a silent auction will go to the Fraternal Alliance Of Texas Scholarship Fund. Active graduating high school senior members of a fraternal belonging to Fraternal Alliance Of Texas are currently eligible to apply for the scholarship. Special Valentine’s Day silent auction items and door prizes will be awarded. Gift items for the silent auction will be appreciated. For more information about the tournament or to register, contact Chester Jenke (210) 413-3053. —SPJST—
