Congratulations to SPJST State Progressive 42 Domino Tournament winners from left, Dan Stepan of Lodge 47, Seaton and Dorothy Kucera, Milton Peterson, and Brad Russell, all of Lodge 6, Cottonwood.

On January 12, 2013, participants from across Texas gathered in Cottonwood to participate in the SPJST State Progressive 42 Domino Tournament, hosted by Lodge 6, Cottonwood. Participants enjoyed the day filled with fun and fraternalism. Members from Lodges 6, Cottonwood; 47, Seaton; 66, Waco; and 258, Seguin participated in the event. The tournament started at 9 a.m., and participants played eight rounds of dominoes before breaking for lunch around 12 noon. During the morning the kitchen crew of Lodge 6, Cottonwood provided kolaches, cookies, coffee, juice, and other snacks. Lodge 6, Cottonwood members served turkey and dressing with all the trimmings and some wonderful desserts for lunch.

Lodge 47 Seaton couple celebrates 65 years of marriage

Participants returned to their seats and played seven more rounds of dominoes and completed the last round at 3:30 p.m. First and second place winners won by the number of games won. Third and fourth place winners were tied on the games won, and total marks scored was the determining tie breaker. First place went to Dan Stepan of Lodge 47, Seaton with 13 wins, two losses, and a total of 110 marks. Second place went to Dorothy Kucera of Lodge 6, Cottonwood with 11 wins, four losses, and a total of 102 marks. Third place went to Milton Peterson of Lodge 6, Cottonwood with eight wins, seven losses, and a total of 100 marks.
