You’re Invited! SPJST Home Office Open House Monday, December 5
The SPJST Home Office cordially invites everyone to a Christmas Open House at the SPJST Home Office, located at 520 North Main Street in Temple, on Monday, December 5 following the Temple Christmas parade. The parade begins at 6:30 p.m. in downtown Temple. Many activities are planned for the evening including horse-drawn carriage rides, Christmas caroling by the Temple High School Polyfoniks, balloon twisting and face painting, Christmas storytelling, SPJST State Royalty, refreshments, Santa and Mrs. Claus, Czech Christmas traditions, and a display of SPJST’s Christmas floats. Attendees are also invited to visit Texas Czech Genealogical Society’s Czech Veterans’ Wall of Honor, located in the basement of the Home Office. The event is free of charge and open to the public. For more information, visit www.spjst.org or call (254) 773-1575. Be sure to visit the Czech Heritage Museum, located near the Home Office at 3rd and French, from 6 to 9 p.m. for its open house. Members of Lodge 88, Houston are pictured with the SPJST Float in the 46th Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce Holiday Parade held Saturday, November 19 in Tomball. More than 40,000 people lined the streets for the two-hour parade. For the second year, the Best All Around Float award went to the SPJST entry. In all, more than 150 entries participated in the Main Street parade billed as “Two Miles of Smiles.”
