District Two Youth presented a new look to Cooper Farm’s bus at the district spring meeting held March 20 in Taylor. “When we went and saw Cooper Farm last fall, I knew something had to be done with the bus,” Lodge 47, Seaton member Chaundra Mitchan recalls. “We couldn’t have our SPJST campers riding around in that sad-looking thing!” So Mrs. Mitchan spoke with her employer — Tex Blast in Temple. Tex Blast and the youth from District Two teamed up “to make that sad-looking bus look pretty!” Tex Blast blast, primed, and painted the bus and had Print It in Belton apply the lettering. was brought in to refurbish about 10 of the most damaged seats inside the bus. And, the bus has already caught the eye of many people on its way back to Cooper Farm from Taylor, ENC Executive Director John Hoelscher says. “Donations like this sure do make Cooper Farm have a better appearance. I sincerely thank the youth of District Two for their very generous donation of a paint job for the bus. I hope that all youth enjoy riding in style to the lake this summer!” “I hope everyone in the state notices the new bus and will remember the camp for all of its needs,” Mrs. Mitchan says. —SPJST—
