A former youth club member and Leader-In-Training, Andy of Lodge 89, Rosebud was home from Kabul, Afghanistan, for two weeks of rest and recuperation (R&R) leave. He served as a camp counselor at this year’s District Two Camp July 12 to 15.

Congratulations to the 2009-2010 District Seven Royalty Court. They were crowned on Sunday, July 12 at Youth Achievement Day held in Poteet. The village of Ammannsville is located in the southeastern part of Fayette County, Texas. According to some early ancestors, it was called “Viskov,” a Czech word meaning “Wolf Country.” That is where Vestnik poet and SPJST Lodge 187, Round Rock member David Knape’s family began. “My ancestors were among those early settlers who endured so much to stake out a plot of land and try to make a home for their families,” he says.
