District Two Youth Counselor Patsy Koslovsky, right, presents a plaque to Rosamond (Patsy) Baker of Lodge 89, Rosebud for her years of service as a youth leader in the SPJST Youth Program. Rosamond served as youth leader from 1997 to 2007. A surprise reception was held in her honor at the lodge’s February 17 meeting in Rosebud. More pictures on page 24.

Fraternal Family Feature

Representatives gathered in La Grange, Texas, on Friday, February 15, 2008, to present the 2007 Join Hands Day Excellence Award to Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center. This honor was awarded to the participating organizations for the outstanding performance and achievement on Join Hands Day—May 5, 2007. State FAC and Lodge 258, Seguin President Chester Jenke, front, presents the trophy and a check for $1,000 to TCHCC President Retta Chandler. The trophy will be displayed in the TCHCC Museum. Also pictured are, back, left to right, KJT State Vice President Christopher Urban, SPJST Supreme Lodge President Brian Vanicek, KJZT State President Lucille Ulcak, and SPJST District One Director Donnie Victorick.

Fiddlin’ Fun Fund-Raiser

Lodge 24, Cyclone member Terry Taylor plays the fiddle with the band Shilo during The Tail Gate Party fund-raiser on Saturday, February 2 at Lodge 24, Cyclone Flag Hall. The event featured music, food, a silent auction, bucket drawings, and a prize drawing. More than 400 people attended this year’s successful fund-raiser. More pictures on page 11.

Three generations of SPJST Lodge 204, Stephenville members gathered at 300 Austin for the Fourth Annual Bowl for the Cure on Saturday, February 16. Pictured are, left to right, Floyd Pierce (in back), Jeffrey Pierce, John Pierce, Mackenzie Houston, Sandra Pierce, Misty Houston, Donnie Pierce, and Wes Pierce. They all participated in the tournament as bowlers or spectators. The tournament included 159 bowlers representing Hermann Sons, KJT, KJZT, and SPJST. The overall winner was KJT.
