Saturday August 5 Mayborn Center Temple
State YAD this Saturday You’re invited to celebrate the youth of SPJST on August 5. Beseda dancing. Arts and crafts. Individual and group talents. The crowning of the 2006-2007 SPJST State King and Queen. That’s what’s in store this Saturday at the Frank W. Mayborn Convention Center in Temple. The program begins at 11 a.m. with opening ceremonies followed by talent competitions. The day ends with the royalty crowning. SPJST youth who received first place honors in their district competitions this summer will be competing at the state level in various competitions, including group and individual talent, nine craft categories, a special category, and youth club poster and scrapbook. More information on pages 16 to 20.
SPJST Home Office Expansion Under Way By Sara Henretty Temple Daily Telegram About 50 people gathered for the groundbreaking of the expansion of the SPJST Home Office Wednesday (July 19) in downtown Temple. The proposed 16,000square-foot, $2.2 million addition is set to be completed in May, 2007. Vanguard Construction is serving as project manager, and Charles Voelter, who designed the existing SPJST office, drew up the plans for the expansion as well. “The new building will have the same character as the current one,” said Brian Vanicek, Supreme Lodge President. The new facility will feature more office space and a state-of-the-art facility for sales and fraternal training. The current Home Office

District Two Royalty
The District Two Royalty Court are Duchess Macey Malcik and Queen Amber Penn, both of Lodge 24, Cyclone, King Kyle Vanecek of Lodge 29, Taylor, and Duke Collin Vanecek of Lodge 48, Beyersville. They were crowned July 23 at the District Two Youth Achievement Day at Lodge 47, Seaton.

The District Six Royalty Court are Duke Donovan Krpec, King Travis Krpec, Queen Stephanie Fucik, and Duchess Allison Fucik, all of Lodge 30, Taiton. They were crowned July 23 at the District Six Youth Achievement Day held at the American Legion Hall in Hallettsville.
