Several lodges and youth clubs across the state contributed funds to the SPJST/The Salvation Army Hurricane Relief Effort. The Supreme Lodge matched these funds and a check for $2,000 was recently presented to The Salvation Army. Thanks to the following lodges and youth clubs for their funds: Lodge 4, Hallettsville; Lodge 13, Dime Box; Lodge 13, Dime Box Youth District Six Director Mike Ahlstrom, left, and Club; Lodge 29, Supreme Lodge Legal Advisor Drew present a check for $2,000 to Taylor; Lodge 32, Popelka Captain Martha Burchett of The Salvation Victoria; Lodge 40, El Army. Campo-Hillje; Lodge 141, Sealy; Lodge 143, Inez; Lodge 148, El Maton; Lodge 172, Pasadena; Lodge 184, Moulton; Lodge 189, Bryan-College Station; Lodge 196, Houston-West; and Lodge 200, Bruceville-Eddy. S
ome folks said, “It could not be done.” Others said, “It’s too far gone.” Still others remarked, “It has seen its last days.” All of these were far from the truth. Those same dreams and prayers that led our ancestors across foreign land and strange oceans are still alive and active at SPJST Lodge 48, Beyersville. The old hall has been resurrected and is now alive and thriving once again in the Beyersville community. Thanks to all the folks in the local communities who supported our fund-raisers, we have been able to restore the SPJST Lodge 48, Beyersville hall and make it
