SPJST observes its 107th anniversary in 2004. That's an achievement in itself! That speaks well to the timelessness of our fraternal mission; moreover, it speaks well to the dedication of our generations of devoted members. As a tribute to its members, the Vestnik will be introducing a new periodic feature in 2004 entitled "Reflections." How has mem bership in the S PJSI impacted your life or the life of someone in your family? Now's the chance to tell your story. Maybe you have a story about how an SPJST member benefit — life insurance or a mortgage loan — helped you or someone in your family? Or did an SPJST event play a memorable part in your life. Maybe you met your spouse or made a lifelong friend through the Society? This is a unique opportunity to bring your SPJST memories and experiences to the attention of members now and in the future. Your story can breathe new life into people, places and events long past. Writing is a powerful tool. Whether you have business ideas to communicate or stories to share, you can't get the job done without putting your words down on paper. Here are some suggested guidelines for you to follow in composing your story: First. Decide which story you want to write. Your recollection of a

particular lodge experience? About the friends and relationships you have made as a result of your participation in SPJST? The possibilities are many. Second. Once you've decided on a subject to write about, think about the details. What events or circumstances do you want to share with your fellow members. You may even want to make a list of specific events, issues, people and places that might play a prominent role in your SPJST story. Third. Write! Give yourself plenty of time to remember everything. Do whatever it takes to tell your story. Your story is important and people want to read it! With regards to length, your story can be as short as you like; however, please try not to exceed 500 words. What's most important are the details, conveying your message and giving readers a feel for the times. Direct your stories and any questions you may have to:
