Local Lodge Incentive For each lodge that achieves its lodge quota and the State achieves 2,345 applications, the lodge will receive 1 1/2 times its lodge incentive amount. If a certificate lapses prior to 12 months, no credit will be given to the lodge or sales representative for incentive programs. And that's what we're planning to do — again — in 2004." The goal of the SPJST's 2004 membership drive is to increase the Society's membership by a minimum of five percent or 2,345 applications. All SPJST members in good standing are eligible and encouraged to participate in the effort.

Application Quota The application quota for the state is 2,345 applications, for the year January 1, 2004 - December 31, 2004. This number reflects a five percent increase over the 2003 statewide quota. The state must meet the 2,345 application

Lodge Officer Incentives The lodge officers who promote the sales of SPJST life insurance and support the Join Hands 2004 program will be rewarded. The lodges will have their names submitted into a drawing and the win-

ners will be awarded cash. The value will be assessed according to the category the lodge wins in the Local Lodge Incentive Program. The number of awards will be determined after the final count of qualifying lodges at the end of 2004. The formula will award one cash award for every four qualifying lodges per category. If there are extra lodges in a category, an extra award will be awarded for that category. The cash award will be paid directly to the winning lodge to be divided equally among each lodge officer. For example, if at the end of 2004 the First Step category has 21 qualifying lodges, then six cash awards (instead of only five) will be awarded. It will be the responsibility of the local lodge officers to evaluate their need for more sales representatives. They are strongly encouraged to accept new sales representatives recruited from among their members by mailouts and through other means. Lodge officers are encouraged to take part in recruitment of new sales representatives and allow field representatives time to promote the campaign. In an effort to achieve the objectives of the Join Hands 2004 program, the following ideas area suggested: • Lodges are encouraged to participate in monthly sales promotions. • Lodges should allow time during each meeting for members to complete membership referral cards. • Lodges should set up processes to welcome new members inviting them to lodge. • Lodges should promote fraternal activities, youth and youth club activities. • Contact civic officials, elected officials. • Bring a neighbor/friend to a meeting or social that is a prospect for membership. • Encourage lodge to have social. • List relatives (children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, etc.) who are not members to have them contacted. • Focus on members' children and those who have not joined SPJST. Scholarship fund drive donations approaching $9,000 Through the middle of December, the SPJST's 100 Pennies Scholarship Fund Drive had received 387 donations totaling $8,709.64. The fund raising drive started on October 1. SPJST Memorial Donations to date are $5,313.50. The second listing of donors appears below. Names appearing in bold have given $50 or more. Donations are tax deductible and 100 percent of the amount contributed goes toward scholarships. Acknowledgement of individual donations will be published in the Vestnik. SPJST general scholarships were established in 1982 for SPJST member. General scholarships are funded by the SPJST and voluntary contributions by members and friends of the Society. Accordingly, the more funds available, the more scholarships awarded. Thank you for your generous support. The 100 Pennies Scholarship Fund Drive continues through March 31. Lodge Dist. Name
