Eyeglass Recycling Program District Seven Director and Supreme Lodge Chairman Bob Bayer presents State Youth Director Melanie Zavodny with eyeglasses donated by members of District Seven. "The SPJST continues to collect old eyeglasses to be recycled worldwide," says Sister Zavodny, who is coordinating the effort. "Thanks to all who have turned in eyeglasses," she says, adding that the agency also accepts hearing aids and cellular phones. For information on how to give, please contact Melanie at (800) 727-7578.
For someone special ... It's almost that time of year again - Christmas! Another time to wonder what in the world will we buy our grandkids. We don't want to spend money on frivolous items. Naturally, we want to buy them things that will bring enjoyment. But what? Computer games? Clothes? Games? Toys? All items they will soon outgrow. How about an SPJST insurance certificate? You could buy them a paid-up life insurance certificate -- a gift that will not lose its value and will help them in the future. Since the premium is paid for in one lump sum, the parents don't have to worry about making future premium payments. What's more, the grandkids can keep the certificate in force after they grow up or use the cash value as needed. Too, membership in the SPJST makes them eligible for lots of other good things like camp, youth program and scholarships. For help with gift buying ideas for your grandchildren or children, please contact an SPJST sales representative in your lodge or call the SPJST Home Office in Temple at 773-1575.
