Grandparents are Special! Sunday, September 7 was Grandparents Day. It was also the day of the District Six Fall Meeting hosted by Lodge 8, Weimar. To mark the occasion, District Six youth, pictured above, presented a tribute to all of the grandparents in affenance. Watch for related meeting photos in next week's Vestnik.
Calling all golfers:
Second annual statewide tourney October 11 in Temple The SPJST will be sponsoring its second State Golf Tournament. The tournament is scheduled for Saturday, October 11, 2003 which is Columbus Day weekend. The tournament will be Saturday morning from 8 a.m. till finish. While we know this is a long way off, plans are already in the making. The tournament is for SPJST members, family, and friends. The tournament is a Four Person Scramble. We are planning for three divisions— Youth Division (ages 16 to 18); Ladies Division; and a Men's Division. Registration is due on September 29. You do not have to be a professional. Come out and play with our beginners and the ones who play for fun. You will have great time and lots of fun. Kids Helping Kids Lodge 202, Jourdanton Youth Club President Marcus Huizar presents a two-and-a-half gallon jar filled with pull tabs to District Seven Director and Supreme Lodge Chairman Bob Bayer. Club members, under the guidance of Youth Leader Belenda Barta, kneeling, presented Brother Bayer with the tabs at the District Seven Fall Meeting hosted by Lodge 202, Jourdanton on September 14. Collecting the pull tabs is an ongoing effort of the part of District Seven to benefit the Ronald McDonald House in Temple. Money generated from the tabs is used to cover home operational expenses.
