Dear Members and Friends, I invite you to attend the 2001 SPJST State Youth Achievement Day on Saturday, August 4 at the Frank W. Mayborn Center, located at 3303 North Third Street in Temple. The day starts with participants' registration of craft, talent, royalty, special category, beseda, scrapbook and poster entries from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The program will begin at 11:15 a.m. A pizza lunch consisting of pizza, salad, dessert and iced tea will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for $3. Activities will include individual and group talent contests. The royalty competition will begin at approximately 5:30 p.m. All of the day's awards will be presented at the end of the day. I encourage all youth to enter this year's special category contest. This year's contest is, once again, a surprise and will be announced at State YAD.
