is the time for SPJST youngsters, teens and adults to decide if they will be attending SPJST summer camp. Camp sessions are listed on the Family Fun and Important SPJST Dates calendar on page two. "Camp is provided on the basis of participation in SPJST activities," says State Youth Director Melanie Zavodny. "To qualify for camp, young people must be SPJST members by October 31 of the year before the camp, and must attend seven out of 12 youth meetings in the months preceding camp." Other ways to attend include attending seven out of 12 adult meetings in lodges where there are no youth clubs. Non-active young people may also attend camp by paying for the camp session. Costs vary
from district to district. For more information on this option and general information on SPJST summer camps, please contact your District Youth Counselor listed on page two of the Vestnik or the State Youth Director at 1 (800) 727-7578. Active youth club members plannin g to attend camp need to return their green camp forms to their district youth counselor a minimum of 20 days before their district's opening camp date. Again, please note that this date will vary from district to district. SPJST camps are sponsored by districts and not by individual lodges. Each lodge is responsible for transportation to and from camp. Adult Volunteers Invited Camp isn't for young people only. In fact, many adult volunteers will be needed again in 1999 to chaperone SPJST summer camp activities. Their assistance complements the instruction and supervision that campers receive from paid professionals who conduct and/or oversee various parts of the camp program. Adult members who would like to volunteer their assistance may do so by contacting their district youth counselor. —SPJST-
