Lodge Winning Most Games Lodge 107, Floresville The players hit their rounds fast and hard. Several remarked at how quickly the rounds were played. It seemed to us that no sooner had the players sat down, then the first players finished and were standing up drinking coffee, eating kolaches and visiting. Floresville Takes Team Title
Director Bayer of Floresville led his six lodge teams in winning the most games during tournament play. He and Glenn Pruski, also of Floresville, suggested that lodges register in the future as even or odd teams, reducing the chances of lodges who drive a long distance in playing against themselves. Director Klinkovsky and wife Irma dropped by for a visit. A pleasure as always! John Engelke provided great assisstance, making announcements and generally seeing that the tournament ran smoothly. Lodge 66, Waco was very fraternal in their manner as host for the tournament. We appreciate all of their work in the delicious lunch and in making the day a pleasant one for the players. Mildred Horak and Lucille Lietko from Lodge 13, Dime Box could probably not guess when entering Lodge 47, Seaton for the 1998 State "42" Tournament that their day would reflect domino perfection. In fact, Mildred had to do some mighty fine talking to convince Lucille to come to the tournament with her on April 25. However, Mildred did convince Lucille to come and we are so glad that she did. Sister Lucille and Sister Mildred knocked off game after game throughout the day, culminating in a perfect 80 win/loss record. Congratulations to them for winning first place. Also taking state winners' trophies were: Kenneth and Keith Andel of Lodge 24, Cyclone—second place; Dorothy Marken and Hilda Krueger of Lodge 29, Taylor—third place; and Emma Ceska and Gladys Pustejovsky of Lodge 66, Waco—fourth place. Congratulations to all these teams for their state wins. Congratulations also to Lodge 13, Dime Box for being the lodge which (Continued on page 6.)
