Study program results in accreditation for 79 new Fraternal Insurance Counsellors The
SPJST joins the National Fraternal Congress of America in its annual tribute to Fraternal Insurance Counsellors by proclaiming May as FIC Month. Moreover, the Society would like to take this opportunity to congratulate its newly designated FICs. A total of 79 SPJST Sales Representatives and Home Office personnel achieved the distinction this spring when they completed the third and final examination in the FIC Training Program. "It is our pleasure to recognize those sales representatives who have taken the extra effort to excel in their field by qualifying for the FIC designation," says Supreme Lodge Vice President Leonard Mikeska, who also holds the FIC designation. "We are proud of their achievement. They have demonstrated their commitment to grow in their ability to serve our members and their clients. We applaud their efforts and the professionalism they bring to those they serve." Most of the newly-designated FICs participated in a year-long FIC course sponsored by the SPJST Insurance Department and instructed by SPJST State Field Representatives. The twohour evening classes were held on a regional basis and met approximately every two weeks. Typical sessions included a review of the assigned reading material, pop quizzes and question and answer sessions. Since the first FIC designation was awarded in 1937, the privilege to put these letters behind one's name has been a hallmark of professionalism for sales representatives and home office fratemalists. Indeed, the FIC designation has become the acknowledged standard of fraternal field education, demonstrating a commitment to ethics and providing career development and professional recognition.
