Hardy players brave weather for state volleyball tournament by State Fraternal Activities Coordinator Barbara Rosenkranz Saturday, November 15 dawned bitter cold and gray in Eddy, Texas. As players began to arrive there were reports of sleet and light snow. Assuredly the New Braunfels team would elect to stay home on this blustery day, I guessed. I was wrong and glad to be! Although we did have cancellations from 13 down to 9 teams, I was impressed that several young men, Jonathan Haag from Lodge 185, New
Braunfels; and Chad and Jason Cervenka from Lodge 29, Taylor, brought teams to the tournament. As I understand, these "graduated" SPJST Youth Club members took the initiative to form their lodge teams and bring them to the State Volleyball Tournament. We need more young men and women like those involved in this tournament to be active in our lodges! Early Morning Activity
