Sister Ida Riniker Muerii
Lodge 201, Bleilmerville-Nelsonviile member achieves "Grand Age of 96" The SPJST congratulates Sister Ida Riniker Muery, who celebrated her 96th birthday on March 28, 1996. As such, Sister Muery is entitled to all SPJST member benefits with no further dues or assessments required.
Ida Riniker was born in Millheim, Texas to Charles and Louise Riniket on March 28 1900. She was on of four childre.. Ida grew up on the family farm, helping her parents raise cotton, corn and Ida Riniker Muery cattle. Life was different then, she says, recollecting her courtship and horse and buggy outings with her future husband, Hugo Muery. Hugo and Ida were married on January 31, 1921. They had two children, Geneva and Charles.
For thirty years, Ida and Hugo owned and operated Muery's Grocery and Market in Bellville. In addition to running the store, Sister Riniker devoted considerable time to her family and community. She was in the active Bellville High School band booster club and the American Legion Womens Auxiliary, serving as pfesident of her local chapter. A foc..mber of the :-..cordia Singing Society of Bellville for 65 years, she also played piano and organ for 12 years in the. Bellville Methodist Church. Mr. Muery passed away in 1977. Ida, who is recovering from recent eye
surgery, remains independent. Until the operation, she enjoyed crocheting, producing many colorful afghans along the way. These days, between cooking and cleaning, she continues to pursue her love for dominoes and is a member of several area domino clubs. She especially enjoys playing "88." In addition to her two children, Sister Riniker takes pride in her seven grandchildren, ten greatgrandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter. Once again, the SPJST congratulates Sister Ida Riniker Muery for achieving the Grand Age of 96. —SPJST-

WINTER, SPRING SUMMER or FALL You're always welcome to visit the SPJST Heritage Museum, located in the SPJST Home Office in Temple, Texas. SUMMER TRAVELERS, TAKE NOTE: The SPJST Home Office is located at 520 North Main in Temple. A major goal of the SPJST Museum is to preserve the Czech cultural heritage by teaching Czech history and traditions. It also stands as a memorial to the pioneer Czech forefathers and mothers who settled Texas. Museum hours are Monday - Friday, 8 - 12 and I -5 and on weekends by special arrangement.

Cheryl is a member of Lodge 81, Needville and a graduate of Needville High School. She is the daughter of Vincent and Jeanette Newman and the granddaughter of Fritz and Georgie Koehne, Marie Newman and the late Vincent Newman, Sr. She plans to attend college where she will major in biology, and eventually pursue a career in the field of medical research.
Thomas is a member of Lodge 47, Seaton and a graduate of Temple High School. He is the son of Tom and Margaret Gibson. Thomas plans to attend Temple College and later transfer to Texas State Technical College in pursuit of a career in the field of drafting and design.
Sherri is a member of Lodge 1, Fayetteville and a graduate of Fayetteville High School. She is the daughter of Herman and Susan Schramm and the granddaughter of Dorothy Schramm and Charles and Ellen Vasek. Sherri plans to attend Blinn Junior College and Southwest Texas where she will major in Business.
CHRISTOPHER DRYMALLA Christopher is a member of Lodge 1, Fayetteville and a graduate of Klein High School in Spring, Texas. He is the son of Johnny and Louise Drymalla and the grandson of Tillie Drymalla. Christopher plans to attend Texas A&M University where he will major in Mechanical Engineering.
