Sister Gustina Pustka
Lodge 49, Rowena member achieves "Grand Age of 96" The SPJST congratulates Sister Gustina Pustka, a member of Lodge 49, Rowena, who celebrated her 96th birthday on December 3, 1995. As such, Sister Pustka is entitled to all SPJST member benefits with no further dues or assessments required.
Lodge 49, Rowena honored Sister Pustka on April 19 in recognition of her 96th birth ay. Gustina, who been a ember of Lodge 49 for 76 years, 'receive a certificate of recognition from istrict Four Director Stanley Broz and Lodge 49 President Elizabeth Walther. Sister Pustka was born in Rowena, Texas, on December 3, 1899, to . Paul and Rosie (Skrabanek) Korenek. Her parents mmiw-ated to Rowena, Texas from what
is now the Czech Republic in 1887. Paul was 24 and Rosie was 22 when they arrived in the United States. When Gustina was born, her parents were farmers. She had three sisters and one brother; all are deceased. Gustina married Henry Pustka in San Angelo, Texas on November 1, 1921. She was a housewife and he was a cotton buyer. The Pustka household was blessed with three children: Bernice Leone and husband, George, of Rowena; Thelma Cummings and husband, Fred, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Stephen Pustka and wife, Freida, of Fort Worth, Texas. Henry passed away on December 19, 1980. "Mother was always there for us," recalls her daughter, Bernice, characterizing her mother as a wonderful lady and a talented homemaker. "She loved to bake kolak..!ies nmde them for years and
they were wonderful. She also made the best homemade bread..." In addition to her children, Sister Pustka enjoys the company of her five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. One great-grandson is deceased. "The Age 96 reception was very special for mother," says Bernice. "She is very proud of her membership in the SPJST. It's been an important part of her life." Gustina divides her time these days between her two daughters who take turns caring for their mother in their homes. Once again, the SPJST congratulates Sister Gustina Pustka for achieving the Grand Age of 96. —SPJST-

Jason is a member of Lodge 154, Fort Worth and a graduate of Richland High School. He is the son of Gary and Debbie Skrasek and the grandson of the late Joe Skrasek and Helen Skrasek Rojas of Ennis. Jason is planning to attend Tarrant County Junior College in the fall.
Jerome "Trey" is a member of Lodge 84, Dallas and a graduate of Lake Highlands High School. He is the son of Lesa and Jerome Zabojnik, Jr. and the grandson of Rosemary and Jerome Zabojnik, Sr. and Beth and Jerry Winters. Jerome plans to attend Texas Tech University where he will major in Engineering or in a medically-related field.
Tracy is a member of Lodge 177, Academy and a graduate of Taylor High School. She is the daughter of Joe Lynn and Sarah Jezek and the granddaughter of Walter and Othean Jezek and Evelyn Stiles. Tracy plans to attend Blinn College and Texas A&M University where she will major in Agricultural Business or Broadcasting.
JENNIFER KRISTINE SARTOR Jennifer is a member of Lodge 66, Waco and a graduate of Connally High School. She is the daughter of David and Debbie Sartor and the granddaughter of Garland and Sarah Sartor and Frances Kirby and the late Dalton Stewart. Jennifer plans to major in Aeronautical Engineering at Baylor and apply to the USAF Officers Candidate School.
