And, then at bedtime, count your blessings and successes—not faults or shortcomings in yol; yourself and others. That was the message delivered on Saturday, February 24, by motivational speaker Linda Woodbury, to more than 400 SPJST lodge officers and members attending the Eleventh Annual Lodge Officers' Workshop held at Lodge 47, Seaton. Basically, she explained, there are four communication styles, which she characterized with animals: dominant lions; interacting porpoises; steady koala bears and cautious beavers. It's great when you have all four types of personalities on your team, she said — everyone has something to contribute to the mix. For example, "lions" appreciate a challenge and function well as project leaders; porpoises are expressive types and can help build team spirit; koalas are quiet and don't mind doing the behind the scenes jobs; and beavers, who appreciate structure and procedures, can he counted on to take care of project details. A well-organized lodge will match a person's personality type with a particular job that needs to be done, Miss Woodbury said. It's good for business. Following Miss Woodbury's presentation and luncheon, Supreme Lodge ?resident Howard Leshikar addressed the assembly, during which time he recognized Libbie Bartek of Lodge 177, Academy as the SPJST's 1995 State Fraternalist of the Year. Sister Bartek, joined by several members of her family and lodge, expressed her deep appreciation to the SPJST and Lodge 177 memState bers for the recognition.

"Thank God for what you have or can do, not on what's missing from your life. Affirm your worthiness and talents as you look at yourself in the mirror. Open your mind to additional information. Focus on laughter, humor, and solutions rather than problems." — Linda Woodbury
