23, Moravia Honors 50-Year Members at Social Lodge

Lodge 23, Moravia held their December meeting and Christmas social on Sunday, December 3 at 2 p.m. at the lodge hall.

President Albert Olsovsky conducted

the meeting and Director Matt Vanek spoke a few words of encouragement to everyone. The 50-year membership pins were presented to Henry H. Novak, Harry Klapuch and Edwin J. Vanek. Unable to attend were Josephine Eggameyer, Jerome Alois Koerth, Leslie Louis Koerth, Lydia M. Muhlstein and Daniel Joe Schoppe.

President Olsovsky, reported that the District Six Spring Meeting will be held at Moravia. The date was set for March 17.

The election of officers was held and all were reelected. Albert Olsovsky was elected delegate to the convention and Eddie Vrana is the alternate delegate.

After all the business was taken care of, the drawing for door prizes was held.

The gifts donated by the Supreme Lodge were a rain gauge won by Madalene Vaculik, an SPJST bracelet won by 011ie Pospisil, a brush and mirror set won by Millie Berger and a set of SPJST dominoes won by Eddie Vrana. The prizes donated by our local lodge were a food tray won by Leona Vanek, a box of cookies won by Evelyn Technik and a box of jam won by Eileen Melson.

Afterwards, refreshments were served and lunch followed with the lodge furnishing the cold cuts and the ladies furnishing the desserts.

Thank you to everyone for joining us and for the desserts and to those who did all the work.

25, Ennis Reports on December Meeting Lodge

Dear Readers, The December meeting was called to order on December 14 at 8 p.m. by President Ernest Haskovec.

The pledge to the flag was led by Johnnie Krajca. A moment of silent prayer for our departed brother Marvin Walher followed.

Members that are known to be sick are Mildred Trojacek, Vivian Vrana and Dolphie Hrabinka.

The minutes were read by Secretary Patricia Fowler and approved.

Financial reports were given by Treasurer and Fraternal Activities Coordinator Kay Kovar. Vice President Charlie Patak gave his report. The Christmas party and dance were successful and everyone had a good time.. We would like to thank RVOS No. 51 for helping us with the party. The chili and all the trimmings that were made by RVOS No. 51 cooks, headed by Milton Martinek and Linda Trojacek, tasted very good on the cold day. The Mikula Band provided the music.

The lodge welcomed new members Brandon Allen and Melissia Marusak.

Vice President Charlie Patak thanked outgoing President Ernest Haskovec and his wife Ann for their many hours of devoted time while serving as president of Lodge 25.

1996 officers were installed by Sister Martha Mach. The meeting adjourned and all members enjoyed an after-meeting social honoring Ernest and Ann. The next meeting was scheduled for January 11 at 8 p.m.

38, Kovar Reports on December Meeting Lodge

SPJST Lodge 38, Kovar held its monthly meeting on December 3, 1995.

President Johnnie Janek opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Joe Sulak read the minutes which were approved.

There was no new business and it was decided to vote for new officers in the January meeting.

The meeting was closed with a prayer.

After the meeting, Mr. Sulak brought cookies and coffee for everyone.

The members and officers of SPJST Lodge 38 wish to express our sympathy to the family of Bernard (Bennie) Milton Kaspar. Mr. Kaspar died November 26, 1995, in Austin, Texas. He was 69 years of age and was born in Park Community, Texas.

Mr. Kaspar became affiliated with SPJST Lodge 38, Kovar in 1970. He was also a member of the Smithville St. Paul's Catholic Church. The SPJST of Kovar has made a contribution to the church in Mr. Kaspar's memory.

81, Needville reports on December Meeting

Lodge

The meeting of Lodge 81, Needville was held on Sunday, December 17, 1995, at the lodge hall. Despite the fact that it turned out to be a rain-soaked day, 63 members and guests attended the dinner

and meeting. It started raining about 4:30 Sunday morning and continued on into Monday. In our area, anywhere from six to ten inches of rain was measured.

Fields and pastures looked like lakes. It was wonderful to see so many people decide to come out on the rainy day and brave the miserable weather.

At 12 noon, Mary Werner and her kitchen crew had the meal all set out and ready to eat. Those wonderful cooks in the lodge prepared some excellent, tasty food. First of ail, a big thank-you goes out to our District Five Director Louis Hanus for donating the two turkeys, ham and dressing. Next, we want to send a special thank-you to the ladies who prepared the main courses. Thanks to Darlene Blinka and Benita Walzel for baking the turkeys, to Winnie Susan for baking the ham, and to Mary Werner for making and baking the dressing. Ladies, a great job was done.

Louis Hanus led us in grace before the meal. While we ate our dinner, we had some musical entertainment provided.

Fritz Koehne, on the accordion, and his two granddaughters, Amanda Newman on the saxophone and Lynette Newman on the clarinet, played Christmas carols.

Fritz also played some polkas and waltzes. We all enjoyed it very much and hope you will do this again for us when the 1996 Christmas season arrives.

Thanks for a job well done.

At 1 p.m., President Macha called our December meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Melissa Vallet and Miranda Wiles. Thanks, girls, for helping us out.

All officers answered the roll call. The minutes of the November meeting were read by Secretary Mary Werner and approved as read. Our treasurer Willie Mae Kuykendall presented the monthly financial report which was also accepted as read. Gilbert Walzel, our special fund chairman, began with the schedule of events for the hall for the upcoming month. He then gave the special fund report which was accepted as read.

In the past month, there was one death.

Sister Vlasta Zemanek of Houston left this world to be with her Lord. Our love and sympathy goes out to her family and friends. May she rest in peace.

Jerry Blinka is still on the sick list.

Get-well prayers go out to Jerry.

In other news, Brother Gilbert Walzel reported on the bids for repairing the lodge hall roof. It was decided to let J.W. Otto, III do the job for $800.

Louis Hanus spoke to us briefly. He explained some of the details for the SPJST Convention.

At the meeting, our last penny drive for the SPJST scholarship fund ended.

The lodge voted to pay the difference between what was collected to equal $100. Thanks to all who donated.

The next item on the agenda was the installation of the officers for the 1996 term. The officers are the same as last year. Thanks to Louis Hanus for installing the officers. God bless each of you for accepting these responsibilities again.

President Macha read correspondence from the Supreme Lodge concerning some of the deadlines, especially the pennies drive for the scholarship fund. A letter from Louis Hanus was read expressing thanks to our lodge for all of the work it has done. Christmas greetings and blessings were also expressed by Louis in his letter.

Our latest transfer member, Ida Silva was recognized by President Macha. Ida belonged to the East Bernard lodge. Also present was her husband, Charlie. They

Visitors at our December meeting were Fritz and Georgia Koehne, parents of Jeanette Newman; Rosa Lee Barnes, sister of Benita Walzel; Jay, Joshua, Ami and Ray Horky and Bobbi Evanicky, grandchildren and sor-in-law of Charlie and Joyce Pesak;, and Lorene Taylor, wife of Alfred Taylor. Alvin and Darlene Blinka donated a jar of candy to provide us with a guessing game. Thanks for the donation. The lucky winner was Cheryl Newman who guessed the exact number of 73.

Hopefully, sometimes in the future, we will he able to play bin go. There were so many prizes donated by the generous people that we will give the ones away that were left at our January meeting.

For our next meeting, it was decided to have baked and fried chicken.

21, 1996, at the lodge hall. Ladies, please bring the usual—vegetables or salad and dessert. The meeting was adjourned so that we could start the Christmas party.

Everyone stood around the Christmas tree and sang Christmas carols led by Willie Mae Kuykendall. Soon the sounds of Santa could he heard. Due to all of the rain, Santa probably had to come in a boat, otherwise his reindeer might have drowned. We are thankful that he made it safely. Santa then visited with the young and old. Thanks, Santa, for stopping by.

We appreciate it very much. Put us on your list next year again. Bags of fruit and candy were handed out to everyone.

To end a wonderful time, everyone was invited to stay and have coffee and desserts.

A special thanks to the Newmans for arranging Santa's visit to the party and to the Adolph Machas for donating a new Christmas tree with decorations to the lodge. We are looking forward to our next Christmas party.

Now that everyone has a new calendar, circle the third Sunday in each month. This way you will he sure to attend our meetings. Remember, January 21, 1996, the date of our next meeting.

88, Houston Sets AARP Defensive Driving Class Lodge

Check your last driving certificate. It is good for three years for auto insurance reduction. If it is older than three years then it's time to renew.

The next AARP Defensive Driving Class is February 8 and 9 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Persons ages 50 years or older are eligible to participate in this class.

This course is for auto premium reduction only. Traffic violations will not he honored.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe R. Vlk Celebrate 50 Years of Marriage Mr. and Mrs. Joe R. Vlk celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with a dinner-dance at the Catholic Church Club on Janaury 14, 1996.

Joe and Adell Vlk were married at St. John Neupomocene Church in Ennis, Texas, on January 8, 1946.

After their marriage, they moved to Dallas where Mr. Vlk worked 37 1/2 years for the Titch-Goettinger Company. Mrs. Vlk, the former Adell Trojacek, kept the home for her husCongratulations to Adell and Joe Vlk who celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary on January 14, 1996.

Auf Wiedersehen As we all know, things change with time. At this time, we must inform all of our friends, fans, followers and associates that Ed and Marlene Kadlecek will be moving from New Braunfels in the near future and we will not be taking any more playing engagements. Ed has been talking about reducing the number of appearances from the usual 130 or so to under a hundred a year. Now he won't have to worry how to do this since the move will insure it is done for him. We are currently making arrangements to cover those that are booked past our departure date, and hopefully, we can make sure everyone is satisfied.

We want to thank each and every one of you for the close friendships we have had over the years and for the fun and good times we have enjoyed when we performed for you. It is really a good thing this came so quickly. We don't think we could have done it otherwise without a lot of sniffles and tears.

We will wind down our public performances with the First Annual New Braunfels PolkaFest in New Braunfels on Saturday and Sunday, February 17 and 18; the Borderfest in Hidalgo playing with Myron Floren on Saturday and Sunday, March 8 and 9; the Zapata County Fair in Zapata on Friday and Saturday, March 15 and 16; and the grand finale will be our Maya Equinox Cruise for one week, March 18 through March 25. The cruise finale is a

fitting swan song since it will be our eighth one and cruises have been a trademark of our band since our first one in 1985.

When we get settled in our new home in Panama City, Panama, we will try to find time between our sunning (85 sunny degrees average year round), fishing (50 world fishing records in that area), and swimming (50 mites of Pacific beach and 20 miles of Atlantic beach plus the Carribean) to let you know how we are doing. From time to time, we plan to come back to the United States and visit some of the festivals (as tourists of course) and hope to see you there.

Rennie Guenther, our famous dancing tuba player, wants to continue with the rest of the band (plus some new faces) on his own and will probably call his group Rennie Guenther's 'Village Band or The Happy Travelers. If you are interested in using this group, Rennie can be reached at (210) 625-5709 for information and bookings.

Dear Readers, Lodge 97, Placedo held its annual Christmas dinner and social on December 19 with the meeting following. Everyone enjoyed the turkey and dressing feast with great entertainment being provided by youth club members Josh Cuellar, Brandi Dum, Kristine Dum, Kasey Garrett and Heather Garrett. Each family received a wrapped gift and was introduced by President Yvonne Garrett as they came forward.

Dear Members, Happy New Year to all! Best wishes for 1996!

Our lodge participated in the very successful Christmas program and party held on December 3 jointly with Sokol, WFLA No. 402, and RVOS No. 135.

Much to the enjoyment of the youngsters, Santa was present with sacks of goodies. A large crowd was present to view the program which included singing, flute playing, gymnastics and twirling.

Thanks to Sister Evelyn Novotny and Sister Adell Valek for arranging for Christmas momentos for our members and friends in rest homes.

A donation was made to the Ennis Meals on Wheels. A donation was also sent to the 100 Pennies Scholarship Drive. The members approved purchase of an ad for the SPJST Convention book.

In addition to our monthly meetings held on the third Thursdays at 7 p.m., periodically, members have been getting together at a local restaurant for a meal out, dutch treat. Plans for these outings are made at the monthly metings. If you are unable to attend the meetings, please let an officer know if you are interested in eating out with us. Someone will then notify you of the time and place.

Our officers for 1996 will remain the same. Convention delegates will he Brother Larry Laznovsky and Brother Jerry Chudej. Alternates are Sister Evelyn Novotny and Sister Sylvia Laznovsky.

183, Arlington Reports on Christmas Party

Lodge

The Christmas Party of Lodge 183, Arlington was held on Saturday, December 9, 1995, at the lodge hall.

There were about 100 people in attendance. Honored guests were District Three Director Sid Pokladnik and his wife Justine. During the evening, Mr. Pokladnik did the honor of installing the newly elected lodge officers for 1996.

The event started with a social hour from 5 to 6 p.m. Then a meal of turkey, dressing and fixings was served to all present. The meal was catered by Coburns of Fort Worth.

Shortly after everyone enjoyed the feast, that jolly ol' fellow from the North Pole (Santa Claus) made his entrance.

All the children had a chance to tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas and they all received a gift from him also.

A Chinese Christmas was held for all the adults and everyone had a great time!

The lodge is donating $1,000 to the St. Vincent de Paul Society as a charitable contribution for 1995.

Members and guests that attended the party enjoyed and helped spread the holi• day cheer to all.

185, New Braunfels Reports on December Meeting Lodge

Members of Hill Country Lodge 185 and guests enjoyed an evening of food, fun and fellowship on December 28, 1995. It was our annual Christmas party at the Bavarian Village Hall which was neatly decorated for the holiday season.

The party began at 5:30 p.m.

At 6:30 p.m., our dinner of barbecued ribs furnished by the lodge with accompaniments provided by our members was served.

After our meal, President Roy Haag called a short meeting. Officers for 1996 were installed by District Director Bob Bayer. Our delegate and an alternate to the convention were elected. This being a social gathering, no other business was transacted.

Several attendance prizes were won by those whose names were drawn.

To top off the evening, all enjoyed a rousing game of bunco.

We were happy to have a number of guests including District Seven Director Bob Bayer and Mrs. Bayer.

Attendance was down at the January 4 meeting of the Corpus Christi Circle of Women.

A Christmas card with a note from Diane McRae was read. She expressed her regret that she and her mother, Agnes Burge, were unable to attend our Christmas party.

A note from Annie (WC) Regmund thanking us for the Christmas card signed by members was also read.

Albina Bartos expressed her appreciation for her signed card to Pauline Novosad when she visited her at Sunnybrook Retirement Home.

Donations were made in memory of Frank Veselka by Rose Huff, Betty Jurica, Anita Regmund, Pauline and Victor Novosad, Milly and Jerry Elzner, Norma Baker, and Anna Marie Moss.

Helen Sacky made a donation in honor of Albina Bartos.

Jerry Elzner donated dessert plates and a bottle of lemon juice for our tea.

Pauline Novosad brought a supply of sweetener and Coffee Mate for our coffee. Thank..you, both. Thanks also to all who brought door prizes.

Becky Johnson brought the first pictures of our Christmas party for our scrapbook. Several cameras were brought and pictures were taken of our January birthday ladies. There were six of us with Frances Kosarek missing and she was missing. I believe she is in Houston visiting her daughter. Happy Birthday, Frances. The rest of us, Marcellina Mokry, Norma Baker, Mary Ann Elzner, Betty Jurica, and I lined up for our picture and had a great time. I cannot think of a better way to celebrate my birthday, which fell on the day of our meeting, than to be at Sokol with so many friends, both old and new.

Survivors are her daughter, Arlene Marshall and husband Al; three grandchildren, Joe Marshall and wife Pam, Karen Hernandez and husband Larry, and Susan Perkovich and husband Tim; two great-grandsons, Shawn Hernandez and Adam Marshall; and three nieces.

Pearl was very faithful to our Lodge 88 for many, many years-probably most of her lifetime. She served on the Bingo Committee, Birthday Club Sisters, Entertainment Committee, and other activities that took place at lodge 88. She had been employed at Hilshire Home Supply for many years. After college graduation, she taught school in Austin County. Pearl was a longtime member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church where she played the piano for the Sunday School Class and she also belonged to the Women's Group. She was a member of Eastern Star No. 258, Sons of Hermann Lodge No. 4, Timbergrove Civic Club, and an auditor for the SVPS. Funeral services were held January 9 at St. Mark's United Methodist Church with interment following at Woodlawn Cemetery in Houston, Texas.

Brother Hennessey was horn August 26, 1945; in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He was a life member of Sokol Fort Worth and SPJST Lodge 154. He was an expediter.

Rosary was recited on Thursday, November 30 at 5:30 p.m. at the Mount Olivet Funeral Home with Father George.

Survivors are his son, Shay Hennessey of Fort Worth; his mother, Geneva Hennessey of Fort Worth; one sister and brother-in-law, Sondra and Bill Cole of Weatherford; one brother and sister-inlaw, Greg and Pam Hennessey of Fort Worth; three nieces; three nephews; one great-nephew; and the mother of his son and beloved best friend, Erica Gregory.

Funeral services were at 3:30 p.m.

Friday, December 1 at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

SISTER ALBINA MARY CURIK, who passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 1995, in Pasadena, Texas, at the age of 79.

Sister Curik, one of five children, was born on July 13, 1916, near the community of Edge, Texas, to Ed Curik and Zeta Novosad Curik. She had one brother, Charlie Curik and three sisters, Adele Haltom, Ruby Heine and Millie Krolczyk. Of this family, only one sister, Adele Haltom of Pasadena, Texas, survives. Other survivors include nephews John, Lynn, and Mike Haltom of Pasadena and Eddie Kindt and Larry Curik, both of Bryan; nieces Donna Curik of Tomball and Brenda Wigglesworth of Fort Worth; sister-in-law Chris Curik of College Station; and several other relatives.

Graveside services were held Thursday, November 16 at Forest Park East Cemetery.

Sister Curik will long be remembered for having touched the hearts of all who knew her.

May she rest in peace eternally with our Lord.

In Memory of Pauline Schwertlich Pavliska Mrs. Pauline Schwertlich Pavliska, a resident of Floresville, Texas, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 1995, in Floresville. She was 76 years, 11 months and 3 days of age.

Mrs. Pavliska was born in Poth, Texas, the daughter of Robert Schwertlich and Agnes Hosek Schwertlich. She attended school in Poth and Floresville High Schobl.

On October 29, 1940, in Poth, Texas, she married Joe Pavliska. She was a homemaker and had worked at the Sacred Hearth Cafeteria and was Site Manager of the Senior Citizens Center, a Catholic Daughter, SPJST Lodge 107, Floresville secretary for over 30 years, KJZT and AACOG. She had lived all of her life in Wilson County.

Rosary was at 7:30 p.m. Monday, December 18 in the Vinyard Funeral Home in Floresville.

A mass was held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 19 in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Victor Carrillo officiating.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Floresville, Texas.

Pallbearers were John Bayer, Trey Bielefeld, Welden Pavliska, Brent Pavliska, Larry Bertrand, and Glen Pruski.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Pavliska of Floresville; children Polly Beyer and husband Bob, Erich Bielefeld and wife Liz, Joe Bob Pavliska and wife Laura Lee, and James Pavliska and wife Leysa, all of FloresVille, Susie Blubaugh and husband Richard of Littleton, Colorado, and Jeff Pavliska and wife Carol of San Antonio; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Gertrude Pavliska of San Antonio and Henrietta Gilles of New Braunfels; sister-in-law, Lillian Schwertlich of Boerne; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by daughter Jennifer Pavliska and brother William Schwertlich.

Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home of Floresville, Texas.

Brother Johnson was horn March 1, 1920, to Helen Hippie and Forman H. Johnson in Crete, Nebraska. He was married to his wife Patsy on November 24, 1944, and they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on November 24.

1994. He was a resident of Angleton for 55 years.

10/VESTNIK—Wednesday, January 10, 1996 Mr. Johnson was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Angleton. He was a 32nd degree Mason, Scottish Rite, Past Master Angleton Masonic Lodge No. 829 AF & AM and an associate member of the Sheriff's Association.

Besides his wife, Patsy D. Johnson of Angleton, he is survived by two sons, Bill Johnson and wife Sandra of Lake Jackson and John Johnson and wife Viki of Georgetown; one daughter, Holly Brod and husband Frank of Zurich, Switzerland; one sister, Virginia Kughn of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and grandchildren, Robin and Mark Johnson, Christen and Allison Johnson, and Brad, Adam, and Andy Brod.

Services for Brother Johnson were held at the First United Methodist Church in Angleton at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 20, 1995, Rev. Chris Tate and Rev. Dan Danheim officiated. Interment was in the Angleton Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were nephews, David Davenport, Denis Davenport, Donnie Davenport, Mike Davenport, Richard Davenport, and Tom. Moseman.

Dear Readers, The Snook Youth Club had their monthly meeting on Wednesday, January 3 at the fire station. It was well-attended even though the weather was very cold.

Our charity for December was used books and fabric scraps to senior citizens, old cards to St. Jude, coffee cans to Years for Profit and Boy/Girl Scouts, $5 to Cal Farley Ranch and various cards to elderly.

After the meeting, Kenneth Macik (my dad) talked to us about electricity and showed us equipment/tools that they use.

We also made boxes from old cards and snowflakes. Granny Vlasta See brought cookies, candy and balloons for everyone, too.

Our next meeting will be February 7 at 6:30 p.m. Our charity projects will be to collect plastic, newspaper covers, grocery, receipts, soda tabs, and small used pencils.

He showed us the things they use to work on electricity. It was interesting.

The Lodge 30, Taiton Youth Club met on Sunday, January 6, 1996, at the Taiton Community Center.

The meeting was called to order by President Jeanine Dorotik. The pledge, motto and prayer were led by Camille Staff.

We had a special guest, our District Six Youth Counselor Marcy Dorotik.

Everyone welcomed her. She thanked everyone for the Christmas gifts she received from the members. She went over some important dates with the members.

We also welcomed two new members.

They are Kenna Bubela and Steven Drapela.

Youth Leader Bubela went over old business. She presented Brent Gold with a certificate for having a first place ornament on the District Six level and the ornament was placed on the State SPJST Christmas tree in Temple.

Dates that are important are as following: State Lock-In—March 9; LIT Retreat—May 31-June 2 in Moravia; District Six Camp—June 28-June 30; District Six Youth Achievement Day— July 7 in Victoria.

Winter poems were read by Camille and Mandy Staff, Chad Curtis and Jeanine Dorotik, Kyle and Jason Kaspar, Kirby Bubela and Sarah Dluhos.

"Happy Birthday" was sung to our January birthdays. They are Bethany Dluhos, Michael Kaspar and Camille Staff.

Our charity for the month of January is to purchase a blanket and give it to a needy family.

Refreshments of hot chocolate and cookies were served by Megan and Jon Marcaurele. They were wonderful and it hit the spot for it was a very cold day.

Our next meeting will he February 4, 1996, at the Taiton Community Center.

The members are to make Valentine's Day cards that will be taken to the Hillje Nursing Home.

Dear Members and Readers, The traditional start of Christmas began at Lodge 88, Houston on Monday, December 4, 1995, with the annual Christmas program and party. The Lodge 88 Youth Club performed "A Child is Born for us Today." Karen Bender narrated the story of Joseph and Mary looking for a place to have their newborn son.

Head angels were Lauren Godwin and Brian Graska. Kristen Bender read a poem titled "Christmas Welcome."

Darrell Havemann played his saxophone and Karen Bender performed on her clarinet. They played several solos and then played several Christmas duets.

The "Twelve Days of Christmas" was sung by youth club members Lauren Godwin, Brian Graska, Sara Runnels, Tamara Williams, Karen Bender, Natalie Zalesky, Lisa Farquhar, Kristen Bender, Holly Hubbard, Rachel Barnes, Lindsey Budwit and Valarie Mattiza.

The parents of Baby Jesus were Joseph (Alex Graska) and Mary (Rachel Barnes).

We were then joined by the Lodge 88 Choral Group for more of the traditional Christmas songs. Leading us in song was Helen Hegwood. A special thank-you to Donna Merkel for playing the piano for our program.

The program concluded with a visit from Santa and goodies for all.

Hotel Information for the Twenty-Seventh SPJST Convention

The officers have made arrangements with some of the hotels in the Arlington area for rooms for those attending the SPJST XXVII Convention.

These rooms will only be held until May 1, 1996. Anyone who needs a room should call and make reservations as soon as possible. A credit card number or a check in the amount of one night's lodging will ensure that your room will be held for late arrival.
