We were pleased to have 13 teams participating in the State Volleyball Tournament. In addition to the adult teams that played, we also had the pleasure of having four youth teams compete. We want to thank the Iodizes, chaperones, youth leaders and district youth counselors for their help in aettirig these teams together and providing their transportation. We appreciate all of the members who came out to play—and play they did—all day long — and it seems that everyone had a good time. The New Tabor volleyball team took home the first place trophy in the Spiking Category; however, it wasn't easy for them to eliminate their opponents. In the double eliminations, New Tabor won the first match. Dime Box came hack and won the second match and then, it came to the deciding playoff. In the final game, the score at one point was 14-14. In the end, New Tabor pulled it out and won the first place trophy. In the non-spiking category, all seven teams came prepared to play. These teams in the non-spiking category played "round robin." At the end of that competition, the teams were exhausted and the results were as follows:

Adult Non-Spiking Category First Place—Lodge 88, Houston "Crazy Eight" Second Place—Lodge 88, Houston "Sudden Impact" Third Place—Lodge 200, Brucevilie-Edd y Team No. 1 Fourth Place—Lodge 200, Bruceville-Eddy Team No. 2 Other entries were Lodge 66, Waco, District Two Youth Leaders, and the y outh from District Five. Adult Spiking Category First Place—Lodge 17, New Tabor Second Place—Lodge 13, Dime Box Third Place—Lodge 177, Academy Youth Spiking Category First Place—Lodge 13, Dime Box Youth Second Place—Lodge 47, Seaton Youth Third Place—District Two Youth Each of the teams enjoyed playing in the tournament and I overheard some of them saying that they will be better prepared next year. We would like to again congratulate all the players and the spectators for devoting their time and for competing with a fraternal spirit. We anticipate and look forward to seeing all of you at the 1996 SPJST State Volleyball Tournament! —SPJST-
