Secretary-Treasurer's position filled
SPJST Supreme Lodge appoints Lanita Anglin Secretary-Treasurer Meeting in Temple on Monday, May 9, the SPJST Supreme Lodge appointed Sister Lanita Anglin to fill the position of SPJST Secretary-Treasurer, a vacancy created following the appointment of Brother Leonard Mikeska to the position of SPJST Vice President. Prior to her appointment, Sister Anglin served for 15 years as investment data specialist in the Secretary-Treasurer's office. Her responsibilities included researching the purchase of securities, monitoring securities purchased and reporting to the IRS on mortgage loans, policy surrenders and annuity payoffs. Other duties included preparing reports for independent auditors and the Texas Department of Insurance. Prior to working for SPJST, Sister Anglin served as secretary for the First Christian Church in Iowa Park, Texas and as a mortgage loan clerk for Louisiana National Bank in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She also worked as a training secretary for the Abilene State School and as a caseworker for the Department of Human Services. She received bachelor of science degrees in Business Administration and English from East

Texas State University in 1966. Sister Anglin, who is a member of Lodge 47, Seaton, and her husband, Charles, have two children, Carlita, who will be graduating this spring from North Texas State University and Brian, who will be graduating from Rogers High School. As Secretary-Treasurer, Sister Anglin will be in responsible for SPJST invest-
ments management, mortgage lending and supervision and internal administrative services. "It is an honor for the Supreme Lodge to have selected me to be SecretaryTreasurer," Anglin said, stating that she would concentrate her efforts on providing prompt and accurate customer service. "I plan to approach the investments of the SPJST in a very conservative manner. This will enable the SPJST to maintain its position as a leading fraternal benefit society. Whenever a member assigns „nc...; with the SEiS f, they want to be sure their money is safe." Secretary-Treasurer Anglin noted that there will be a shifting of some responsibilities in the department. "I will work to ensure that our department stays a strong part of the SPJST team," she said. She concluded by saying that she is looking forward to working with the membership and the officers and directors. "This job is going to be a challenge and I am looking forward to it. I would like to encourage any member with questions or suggestions to please give me a call." Supreme Lodge Vice President Leonard Mikeska stated that the Supreme

Lodge elected Sister Anglin from among several well-qualified applicants. "I am encouraged by the number and quality of talent of applicants seeking the position," he said. "Sister Anglin is an intelligent, capable individual with nearly 15 years of experience in the Home Office. Given the opportunity, I believe she will do an excellent job for the members of the SPJST."
"Whenever a member assigns ands with the SPJST, they want to be sure their mc ney is safes" Supreme Lodge Financial Secretary Jerry Mikulas likewise pledged his support to assist the new Secretary-Treasurer. "The duties of the Secretary-Treasurer's Department overlap with the Financial Secretary's Department in many areas and I have promised to help her in any way possible," Brother Mikulas said. "I am confident that she will provide our members with the same, reliable service that they have enjoyed in the past," he concluded. —SPJST-

Jonathan is a member of Lodge 29, Praha, Taylor and the salutatorian graduate of Thrall High School. He is the son of of Sam and June Kubala and the grandson of past District Two Director Henry and Angeline Vitek of Granger and Mrs. Erline Kubala of Taylor. Jonathan plans to go to college where he will be focus on preengineering classes.
Jason is a member of Lodge 4, Karel Havlicek, Hallettsville and a graduate of Kempner High School of Sugar Land. He is the son of August and Shirley_ Kalmus and the grandson of Alfonse and Viola Holly. Jason's future plans include attending Sam Houston State University this fall.
Ira is a member of Lodge 174, Rockdale and a graduate of Rockdale High School. He is the son of Richard and Gloria Thrasher and the grandson of Gilbert and Bessie Kalich, members of Lodge 84, Dallas. Ira's future plans include attending trade school this fall and helping with the family businesses.
April is a member of Lodge 185, Hill Country, New Braunfels and a graduate of Canyon High School. She is the daughter of Roy and Theresa Haag and the granddaughter of John W. and Anita Haag and Johnnie and Rosie Bohac. April's future plans include pur suing a career as a flight attendant or to work on a cruise ship.
