/1., It's official: The SPJST is $100 million strong. The Society reached the plateau on December 1, 1993, when it posted assets totaling $100,120,055.05. The complete summary of business activity for the month of December will appear in next week's Vestnik in Financial Secretary Jerry Mikulas' report. "As we report on this achievement, it should be clear to see that our management and investment strategies are working well," observed Brother Mikulas. "Our operating results reflect more than just a good financial performance. They reflect member confidence, hard work on the part of the employees, and the commitment of all of our officers and directors to building a strong SPJST."
0 7 0 4:1,, "1992 was a good year, a challenging year and—in some respects—a historic year for the SPJST. As an SPJST officer, one of the greatest compliments we can receive is the kind of results the SPJST reported in 1992," Brother Mikulas said. The $100 million mark is significant in that just 10 years ago, the Society recorded approximately $32 million in total assets. According to Brother Mikulas, the amount hastripled, largely due to the impact of a steady infusion of annuity deposits and sound investment strategies on the part of Secretary Treasurer Leonard Mikeska. "In all fairness, we need to also point out that liabilities have also increased," Brother Mikulas noted.

"While we are gratified by this accomplishment, we would like to see the numbers continue to increase," Brother Mikulas says. "There is still room for growth in all of our business sectors. We have made major advancements, but staying competitive requires a regular review of our operations, our markets and our members' needs." —SPJST--
